Guess the Apostle paul 'does not count" , eh?
he made itquite clear in BOTh Ephesians and Romans that the Lord has foreknown/predestined/chosen us to be "In Christ" and that process was done By Him, to be directed towards the objects of His love and salvation, us..
the Apostle states that this salvation/grace was iniated by God towards us on an individual basis, and thatGod "knew" us in a opersonal fashion/directly, as he was the One who saved and redemned us by the Cross!
False. The scriptures do not say God has chosen us "TO BE" in Christ. You add the words "TO BE" to God's word. No, the scriptures say we are chosen "in him" (Christ).
No person is "in Christ" until he believes. This is shown in Rom 16:7, where Paul says Andronicus and Junia were in Christ "before me".
So then, how could we be chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world? According to the foreknowledge of God the Father (1 Pet 1:2). Although Paul was not in Christ until he believed in time AFTER Andronicus and Junia, God the Father could foresee Paul's future faith and position "in Christ" and chose or elected him before the foundation of the world.
Election is founded or based upon God the Father's foreknowledge. It is based upon some factor that he foresaw and foreknew before it actually happened. That is the very definition of foreknowledge.
Many deny God foresaw faith, but this is impossible, as faith is the determining cause that places one in Christ. If God foresaw those "in Christ" and chose or elected them, it is impossible that he did not see their faith, as you cannot be in Christ without faith.
But that is exactly what your doctrine denies, you teach men were chosen TO BE in Christ before they even existed and could place faith in Christ.
