We must not conflate
God revealing to us that we are sinners is not what this passage is talking about. You do not need the Spirit of God in you for the Spirit of God to convict you of your sin. I'm not sure what your testimony is like but I spent months under sound biblical teaching and was convicted immeasurably about the guilt of my sin and the need of a Savior. 1 Corinthians 2 is talking about understanding the realities of the Gospel, not the call of repentance and faith toward God.God HAS revealed it to US by the Spirit. Without the illuminating work of the Spirit, none could understand. That's what TP avers.
