I suppose this will keep going round and round. He can, as he reveals Himself as the almighty Creator to all, but He reveals Himself as the saving God of grace to His own!
“For all the promises of God in him [Jesus] are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20)Notice no comment by 1689Dave on Ezekiel 36 being a direct prophecy to the nation of Israel.
That is even worsethen, as they are saying that they reject God as the boss, and see themselves in that role!I disagree I feel they know exactly what Calvinism teaches and affirms... The basic tenants of Calvinism is God is in complete control and I'm not... Brother Glen
God does exactly this through regeneration. So, God's not powerful enough to reveal Himself to be true? Our flesh is more powerful than God?
Need to go to John 1:13, we are born again due to the very will of God!I suppose this will keep going round and round.
Your statement does not line up with:
John 1
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
If they cannot see the penny, they can not pick it up.No one would conclude that interpretation reading the verse without over the shoulder "help". Not even classic commentators.
Quote the teacher who you learned this from. We cannot make stuff up as you go along.
Name one person who can pick up a penny without the sustaining power of God. The "without God" cop out works with any action.
Yea, take off your calvinistic glasses. You cannot be born physically a child of God. You cannot produce enough Works to become a child of God...You have to be born of God through Faith in His Son!Need to go to John 1:13, we are born again due to the very will of God!

Yes, the faith that God gave to those who are redeemed!Yea, take off your calvinistic glasses. You cannot be born physically a child of God. You cannot produce enough Works to become a child of God...You have to be born of God through Faith in His Son!
And faith comes from hearing the word and not conjured up from within man. IOW, it’s a gift of God.Yea, take off your calvinistic glasses. You cannot be born physically a child of God. You cannot produce enough Works to become a child of God...You have to be born of God through Faith in His Son!
He just had to add in the very next verse! John 1:13However, who are these ppl who received Him, those who believed in His name?
Were it those born of blood, of Abraham’s lineage? No
Were it those who were born of the will of man? No
Were it those who were born by the will of man? No
Were it those who were born of God? YAHTZEE!
But faith ( a fruit of the Holy Spirit) precedes "accepting Jesus", choosing to believe" or any other form of repentance.Yea, take off your calvinistic glasses. Correct. God first works then man reacts. They have man doing his part first and then God doing His. They conjure up faith and repentance, and then God accepts their gracious gift of works. But faith ( a fruit of the Holy Spirit) precedes "accepting Jesus", choosing to believe" or any other form of repentance.
Romans 6:23And faith comes from hearing the word and not conjured up from within man. IOW, it’s a gift of God.
That’s doesn’t negate my stance at all.Romans 6:23
The 2 main questions are: What is the determining factor that makes one say yes, another no, hearing same message? and how can spiritual dead and blind and deaf hear and respond on their own?Correct. God first works then man reacts. They have man doing his part first and then God doing His. They conjure up faith and repentance, and then God accepts their gracious gift of works.
Except for the fact that you conflate faith as a fruit and faith as a gift. That’s doesn’t negate my stance at all.
faith is a gift from god towards His own chosen sinners unto salvation.Except for the fact that you conflate faith as a fruit and faith as a gift.
