What is your opinion on the ESV, NIV, and the Good News Version?

LOVE reading my Thomas Nelson 1611 hardback. Amazed at how much of the Geneva (even spelling) was "borrowed".
LOVE all the alternative words in the margin of the original 1611, as opposed to later KJV revisions that no longer consider such "word-choices" and claim only the exact words of whatever KJV revision they think "perfect" to be allowed.
Bought two volume - NEW KJV and 1611 AV for $29.95 and a great investment!

My Hebrew prof at Tennessee Temple, James Price, one day was walking down a hall with the 1611 hardback in his hand when a KJV-Only student asked what it was. Dr. Price let him see it, but alas, the student couldn't read it!

I've never looked inside the GNV. Both the NIV and ESV are fine, though for more technical work I prefer the NASB. I use an ESV Bible every day.

KJVO seems to be like those who once worshipped the Vulgate, even though never could read and understand latin
I would not use the term "worship" for KJVO advocates, having ministered in a culture with actual idol worship. Simply believing the KJV to be inerrant, for example, does not require one to bow down to it and pray to it. Did you know that liberals in the past have called regular Bible-believing Christians "Bible worshippers"?
Our pastor went to Tennessee Temple. He's from Chattanooga. He's in his mid 60's.
The school turned out many good pastors back in those days.
Worship too strong a word, but they do venerate the Kjv to being what not even the 1611 translators did, as they assume inspiration and inerrancy to it, basically equating the Kjv equal to the Originals themselves
That's a more accurate statement.

I am a KJV only because I have proven it over many years. I also believe the Bible is not presented to an unsaved world so they can be saved. It is written to Christians to explain God and his ways. Bibles will not do the unsaved much good. The prophets preached their sermons and then wrote them down so I can read them and be sure of what they said. The unsaved needs a saved preacher to proclaim to them what God has done for him. and to assure them he will do the same for them. I cannot imagine a Christian who does not love the Bible. God the Father has invested his only begotten son in our salvation and with this kind of commitment one would think he will insure a real testimony about his life and person and work.
I found out that Satan is an adversary and has preachers and Bible writers. No one ever mentions him. I think I have never seen a warning about him in the context of Bible discussions on this forum.
My study in my old age includes word studies and I learn so much about God from this practice. I know that God accused his people Israel, the Law keepers, of ignorance, because they did not know his ways. He did not accuse them of not knowing his words. It is important to know his ways. Knowing them will teach us much and what I have learned is God is not disinterested in how his testimony is presented and with what words. He assigns numerical meanings to words and names and phrases and Bible doctrines are confirmed many times by that manner. He uses metaphors with word pictures that remains consisitent through the whole Bible and throughout history. So, I say many of these Bible writers have perverted the right ways of the Lord and at least in some cases the motive for these Bibles are not pure. But few people seems to care.
Men who refuse to challenge their teachers, but buy into everything they say, have an idol they are worshipping and are greatly confused. However, if you want to say the Living Bible or the Good News for Modern man is your choice for study, knock yourself out but I am not willing to go there.
I do not believe Christians are unsaved becasue of what translation they choose. Some who like other versions are better Christians than me in other areas.

The Bible is the final and supreme authority, but the Hebrew and Greek texts are over any English translation based off them
one van be a KJVP due to preference to original language texts used as textual basis, but there is NO textual evidences nor any internal/external facts to support KJVO
You are covering a lot of ground but you know this, huh? What textual evidences, internal/external for the Bible you think is inspired and can I buy a copy of it from you so I can read it?
