What is your opinion regarding the English Standard Version of the Bible?

Regarding the CSB, there are many things I like about that particular Bible translation.

However, I have come across a few passages here and there that come across as rather odd or unusual.

I'm curious as to whether you've experienced this phenomenon, as well.
There is a couple verses in CSB that could have and should have been different. I suspect that some of that will change in an update. But even if it doesn't, I do not write off a translation for a couple of "bad choices" if they don't effect practice or doctrine of the church.

We can dig into any translation and find multiple verses to disagree about how they should read...even the NASB.

Overall the CSB is a great translation. I like it especially for those who are not strong readers and we use it with elementary and middle school kids with great improvement on reader comprehension when compared to the ESV and NKJV/KJV.

Useful version for those newly saved, never read the Bible before, or English second language. Still think formal translation better for serious bible studies.

I find myself in agreement with you again, sir.

No real opinion because I do not use the ESV.

However, I do not think the ESV came about in the proper way--too many mixed motives on the part of those pushing the ESV.

Would you be kind enough to elaborate on this, please?

You've piqued my curiosity! ;)

Or, by way of translation :" It is a useful version for the newly saved, those who have never read the Bible, or are ESL candidates. I still think formal translations are better for serious Bible students."
Of course, I don't agree with the above.

All parts. You obviously have no knowledge of the subject. Besides, you have flip-flopped on the issue of
the reliability of the CSB many times which leads me to think you don't know its contents.
I used quite often the HCSB, and did casually read and use the Csb for awhile!

So where do you stand today on the reliability of the CSB? You are a fickle on the subject. No matter where you currently stand you are certain to position yourself elsewhere in a short time span.
