So I was not saved then?
Even though for the first time sought out going to church and reading the bible and praying and witness then?
I have a friend who said that she repented and was only saved a week later

Even though the evidence of the fruit produced by being saved is now there?Personal experience means nothing if it contradicts the teaching of the Bible

Right, as good fruit cannot be produced from a dead tree!the Bible cannot be wrong!

Not as defined by the bible!there are many RC's who also have "good fruit"

Your understanding of what it teaches on this could be though!the Bible cannot be wrong!

Spoken to the Jewish people.....then please show me where? I have quoted the Highest Authority, Jesus, in Luke 24:47, where He Commands that "repentance for the forgiveness of sins" is to be preached as part of the Gospel Message. Your argument is with Jesus, not me! And Peter obeyed this in Acts 2:37-38

Not quite sure how the conversation shifted from cults to repentance, but @SavedByGrace and @Yeshua1 have good points. Maybe it depends on what is meant by the question "is repentance necessary for salvation?" If it means the sinner must first repent and stop sinning in order to be saved, I think the answer is "no". We are saved from our sins by trusting in Christ, not by ceasing from sin - which we really can't do this side of Heaven. On the other hand, repentance is necessary for salvation in the sense that we cannot be saved from God's judgment without turning from our sin. I believe that is the point of Acts 2:38.
I believe the point is that repentance is the result of salvation.
Repenting of how many sins, and is repenting confessing them or forsaking them first? The Bible says that repentance is FOR forgiveness of sins and therefore has to come before salvation. Both Luke and Acts is very clear on this

Indeed, repentance is the effect of God having made us alive with Christ. The Holy Spirit Himself grants us repentance and faith, as neither are a work God expects us to do to get saved!Indeed, repentance is the effect of God having made us alive with Christ. (Ephesians 2:1-9)
How so?More misuse of the Bible
