So a charge has been made that the UPC is demonic.

Exactaly what does it take to make a religious "demonic" ?
I have heard that the flesh and the devil are so akin that it is hard to discern between the two....

Is this of the Spirit?
Is this of the flesh?
Is this of the devil?

I believe if something is of God a sensation of goodness will follow.

I remember when a SBC seminary offered a very much needed course on cults some 20 years ago. The course was canceled when only two students registered for it.

Interesting. The normal position of the church is asleep I think. We don't think that Jesus should have taken a whip to the moneychangers and talked about white-washed tombs. We are too nice to rock the boat. That's the reason that we are more and more irrelevant.

Is the UPC the only denomination that you feel this way about?

What other denominations do you think are demonic?

I was brought up in a Marine Corps family and born in Camp Lajuene, NC. I spent my teenage years in the GARBC, who convinced me that speaking in tongues was of the devil. When I was 17 I moved to Virginia to live with my grandparents and had the same experience as described below....

RankinTestimony.pdf

The Pentecostal Holiness people and speaking in tongues was like the video I recorded of it below....

As I experienced all of these things myself I no longer believe tongues is of the devil... But... Mean hearted church people are. The people I met who spoke in tongues in the Pentecostal Holiness church were all like the Methodist in the file shared above.

Now... I cannot tell you that everyone I met who spoke in tongues done so by the Holy Spirit. There are folks out there who put on a show.

show me where I said it?

You don't deny that you don't consider the kingdom of the cults as demonic. The cults all lead to sin death and hell. I suppose that you could say that UPC started as man made after breaking off a century ago from the Assembly of God but their stranglehold on large sections of Indianapolis and their installation at Hazelwood show more than human effort. They have ears but cannot hear.

I deny that the Atlanta Ocean is bigger than the Pacific ocean!

Well, you have talking in circles - so ........

Church Mouse guy, in post 27 you said: "Yes. Salty does not think that a cult which leads people to hell is demonic."

Either show me where I said that - or this discussion ends right now.

I never said that you said that--I said that you think that. You just don't don't agree. So what? It is your conversation so I don't care if you end it.

Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! - Matthew 18:7

I would really pray over my approach before I would accuse someone of being demonic!

Isn't the UPC a Trinity denying 'Oneness' denom?
Here is what the linked statement says:
About God
There is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (See Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16.)

False teachers hide their mischief behind vague assertions where the correct view can be inferred by the unsuspecting. Do you have a quote where the UPC denies the trinity or that Jesus (Logos) was God before the incarnation?

I think the whole kingdom of the cults is demonic. That includes Jim Jones and the UPC, too. They tap into the occult and have demonic power. The cults trap people. Some go insane but others become possessed. The person who wants out is often trapped. Scientology is another Satanic outfit. You can smell sulpher around the cults.

Jesus took a whip and chased the money changers out and he told others that they were white washed tombs.

The UPC is sometimes called Jesus Only for their century long denial of the Trinity.

"The cults trap people" I would agree. I would also say any denomination can end up "cult like" if they go out of the spirit into the flesh. And then... The bondage of the devil is very close at hand. One thing I have noticed in denominations is the change of the quality of people from one generation to the next. What I would give to sit with the old WW2 generation like in times past!
