I have never been a fan of Ramsey, anyways
I respect him trying to apply biblical principles to money management, but think at times he would get condescending and also too much into debt reduction . as putting gui;lt trip on anyone who did not agree must be totally debt freeI have never been a fan of Ramsey, anyways
You hit the nail on the head JF - "condescending..."I respect him trying to apply biblical principles to money management, but think at times he would get condescending and also too much into debt reduction . as putting gui;lt trip on anyone who did not agree must be totally debt free
He is right though. The only good debt is debt that is making you money. (Business debt or investment debt)I respect him trying to apply biblical principles to money management, but think at times he would get condescending and also too much into debt reduction . as putting gui;lt trip on anyone who did not agree must be totally debt free
I have seen a lot of people helped who attended his classes taught at local churches. He can be a bit blunt, but I have never disagreed with the content of his advice.Granted he might be right about some things - BUT the way he does things.
There are people who who need help - and tearing them down - is not the way!
Sure, there may be times that tough love is needed - but use tact as well.
I will NEVER give Ramsey an invitation.

My first question: Would you recommend Ramsey - if they said yes - --- click ----
Then I guess we will have to agree to disagree!I have seen a lot of people helped who attended his classes taught at local churches. He can be a bit blunt, but I have never disagreed with the content of his advice.
We seem to disagree on a lot. Then I guess we will have to agree to disagree!
My daughter & SIL were living pay check to pay check early in their marriage. They took a DR course & started to implement it & ‘fore long - still struggling, BUT were actually saving part of their income. they have since - some 30+ years later are doing very well financially. I have paid no attention to DR, but from these posts I would gather that he has let his success become a source of pride. As for debt, I am a firm believer in NONE, if at all possible. For most, a car, some medical expenses and a house are out of reach sans debt. But as stated, this namby-pamby generation, (as well as a lot of old fogies) NEED the discipline DR teaches. He’s been doing this for years, AND he is only human, so I would ask that you cut him a little slack as he probably fails to realize that others do no grasp the concepts he teaches since they are everyday stuff to him.We NEED the hard-nosed, in-your-face Ramsey approach now more than ever. Might help this namby-pamby generation survive.
I personally did what he advocates decades ago, long before he came on the scene. Love Dave!!
I have graduated Basic Training when I was in the Army - I do not need another Drill Sgt!We NEED the hard-nosed, in-your-face Ramsey approach now more than ever. Might help this namby-pamby generation survive.
