I am interested in your thoughts as to when a believer is required to compromise their Biblical values and morals in order not to offend another believer or person struggling with their sin nature and the call of repentance?

And the kicker of this question is: Have you compromised in order to express an attitude of tolerance, or to appease the need to appear politically correct?

Pretty open-ended question, but if one were to assume that what is in question is actually sin, is it worse to offend man or God? Easy answer.

Would say two seperate isues here!

per paul, I have liberty in Christ to do all things so long as it does not violate his Word, but also we are called to sacrifice doing what we please IF that behaviour causes some other brother to stumble!

example

I see no problem in someone using other versions of the Bible, but if was asked to preach/teach aermt a KJVO church, would make sure to carry a Kjv, as not to offent them!

Now if the issue is to ever compromise as to what God states is clear right/wrong, should never compromise those!

Example would be like getting pressured to support abortions as being OK...

Yet, if a man from that KJO church were to preach at your other version church - would he say that using a non-KJV was being sinful?? If not, would he be compromising?

Not a matter of faith.

That's a matter of preference. Whether they accept that one can believe without the KJV or not, you are still of the same faith.

I think the question is aimed more at my faith put before a non-believer. My answer is no, no how, no way, no time, not ever.

Everybody compromises all the time. Otherwise you would walk around looking and sounding like Westboro Baptist Church members 24/7. Which, is a good thing.

... said the compromiser urgently trying to justify his compromises ...

You do too. Otherwise you'd stand out just as much as the Westboro folks. Maybe you do? Hopefully not, based on your profile pic you seem like you'd be wise enough in your old age to keep your mouth shut sometimes. Are you saying that you haven't learned this lesson? I doubt that is true.

Seriously, by saying you never compromise in the way that the OP mentioned, you are literally saying that you have no idea how to keep your mouth shut, ever. The whole "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything" simply doesn't apply to you whatsoever. Is this what you are claiming? Being passive aggressive on an internet forum doesn't count.

Nastiness offered in brotherly love, no doubt.

They'll deny and justify it to the grave. All you have to do is look at people's politics and it's obvious that a lot of folks in the church compromise just as much as people outside the church because they want to win.

I have no reason not to believe those claiming they would not compromise their faith!

Of course, you have proved that I lack the keen abilities that you demonstrate, when it comes to knowing EXACTLY what others on this board really mean when they speak!

It looks like you and moondoggy have something in common!

There isn't much room to compromise on a clear cut mandate such as, "Thou shalt not steal".

I could see where some have been so indoctrinated on a certain position that compromising would simply be out of the question..., even if proven wrong beyond any reasonable doubt as their pride would get in the way. Talk about the shame.

Most folks can't muster the strength to apologize for a wrong they have committed to another, let alone admit a life long position might be in error.

To compromise on the basic's of belief in the Lord and acceptance of our Savior would most certainly be a wrong resulting with eternal implications. We should not compromise in this area.

In certain situations however, to compromise might be the best and cheapest lawyer, as per Robert Louis Stevenson.

This drivel obviously comes from an immature Christian who doesn't understand what it means to remain steadfast in the faith while also speaking that truth in love.

When you learn something, then you can attempt to teach. Until then, sit down, be quiet, and learn.

Since when is "sit down and shut up" speaking "in love"? If this is your idea of speaking "in love", it is a massive fail.

I would love to hear about how you individually confront every sinner (in your eyes) in real life that you see without regards to whether they are offended. I bet you're quite popular. Like I said, being passive aggressive on an anonymous internet forum doesn't count.
