Paul said, "it is with the heart that man believes unto righteousness..."

Man can hear the Gospel all the day long, but if his heart is set in his own lusts he cannot hear from the heart to be saved.

The hearing of the Gospel is of none effect to him.

We Particular Baptists posit that God is the one who empowers individuals to hear with the heart: “A woman named Lydia was listening; [she was] a seller of purple fabrics from the city of Thyatira, [and] a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul.” - Acts 16:14 [NASB]

Yes, and her heart was open to God, as the Scripture says of her, "14, which worshipped God."

Her heart was with God and He opened her heart to Christ that she might be saved.

Her worshipping God was not enough, she needed Christ and she on the spot believed.

Children say all the time that they cannot. What prevents them is themselves. It is their own dislike for the job that they have been given that keeps them from doing what everyone else does. They can’t do their own school work. It’s too hard. But lots of children do it. Some without complaint.
God has given mankind the ability to respond to Him.

Genesis 4:7
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

But quite often, our own desires prevent men from believing what their ears take in. The sound waves shook their ear drums, but what shook their ears didn’t shake their hearts and minds. They are dull of hearing. God’s words are not important to them.

Matthew 13:15
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Was Jesus wrong? Or are you?

It seems that BF has built his whole religion on out of context and/or misapplied verses.

He will argue black is white rather than give up his man-made views.

Well since it does not mean that they are deaf then logically it would mean that they will not accept the words of God and we see this is what Christ meant when we read this verse.

Joh 8:45 But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me!

So we see that they could hear but rejected the truth.

You are very narrow minded and refuse to take into consideration any other facts of Scripture.
Your thoughts blame God for the sins and errors of men. You make God to force men to sin against Himself. God is not divided against Himself. You should know that. God is not giving half an effort. But God is not overriding your desires to force you into salvation. He gave Himself. He didn’t impose Himself.
