Nor here:
And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household -- Deuteronomy 14:26
Boy does that verse tick off some IFB's and especially the KJVOnly types. :wavey:
There are some fundys that are just about the bible, and trying to win the lost. The fight is not with them as you have stated often.
These KJO,legalistic types....have lost their minds.
I do not drink, and use a KJV mostly....but those two legalistic doctrines usually are held by misguided persons.....
they say that wacko Steve Anderson used to post on here, before being banned....he is the poster boy for religious ignorance....
they are rabidly psychotic...I give fundies a chance until I hear them say, well...MY BIBLE SAYS....
Was it condemned here????
Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:
Numbers 18:12
All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the Lord, them have I given thee.
Deuteronomy 7:13
And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
There's no excuse for a Christian to glorify, praise, and practice drinking.
There's no excuse for a Christian to glorify, praise, ... drinking.
and practice
It didn't take long to get evidence!
See what I mean Icon? They preach about what they don't do in self-righteousness...but they don't about things they do such as deceitfulness, lying &c...they leave those things off that they themselves practice.
Don't drink, don't smoke, don't chew, and don't go with girls who do.They generally love to preach about what they don't do, like drink, go to movies, using other versions, dance, smoke, chew &c.
There's no excuse for a Christian to glorify, praise, and practice drinking.
And it doesn't surprise me that Calvinist are so worldly who take their liberty as a license to live like devils, and mock God's sanctification. They'll gladly take the God saved me against my will, but when the ordained to good works part of Ephesians 2:10 comes in....Oh that's LEGALISM. So the remedy is just downplay everything in the Bible that clearly teaches against the practice of drunkenness and pull one verse out of context and use against the evidence in the rest of the Bible about drinking.
Don't drink, don't smoke, don't chew, and don't go with girls who do.
Might as well laugh about it.
And it doesn't surprise me that Calvinist are so worldly who take their liberty as a license to live like devils, and mock God's sanctification.
And that verse has been misused by others just like you, strippers for Jesus all for the glory of God, smoke weed as long as whatever you do, is all to the glory of God.There isn't?
Hmmmm:
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. -- 1 Corinthians 10:31
Fundies can't separate out between being drunk and drinking wine. They are not one in the same. Alcohol consumption is Biblically allowable.
I have never met anyone on this board who has less understanding of Scripture and the Gospel than you.And that verse has been misused by others just like you, strippers for Jesus all for the glory of God, smoke weed as long as whatever you do, is all to the glory of God.
Nice way to completely misinterpret this verse.
