I went to the Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music in Grand Rapids, MI. I was only able to complete 3 semesters before running out of money. It has since integrated with another Bible college in that area.

Hey, I knew there was something about you (in addition to your astute comments) that I liked! I graduated from U of L in 1960 with a BA in history. Previously went to Speed Scientific School (U of L's engineering college) for three years until I acknowledged the Lord's call to ministry.

So when were you there?

Difference in schools

I'm curious about the difference between Southeastern Baptist and Southern Baptist.

Better to start its own thread for this one. I know many here swear by SBTS. But I'm kinda partial to SEBTS. I've got Drs. Black & Robinson this fall & cannot wait! They are some of the best Greek & Textual Critic scholars around.

PS - I'm seriously considering SBTS for my PhD (among 2 or 3 other schools).

Thanks for the reply. I'm checking into both as they offer an online diploma that features their core cirriculum from their Masters program. They both look appealing for a simple mind such as I. :)

After many years of uncompleted degree work at several institutions, I finally acted upon the call from God and graduated.

2002, B.S. Interdisciplinary Studies (Church Planting and Pastoral Ministries) Magna Cum Laude -- Boyce College, Louisville, KY
2007, M.A. Missiology (North American Emphasis) -- The Southern Baptist Seminary, Louisville, KY

I set out to do an advanced M.Div in church planting at SBTS, but pulled up a few credit hours short due to financial issues. Had to keep my family afloat. What that means is that I did a lot of advanced course work at SBTS for a rather plain degree...

Since, I have done some doctoral level work including editing and formatting the D.Min., Ed.D., and Ph.D., dissertations of over 100 graduating students.

I managed to pull off two degrees without financing the tuition and as a middle-aged man with a family of four. It was quite a task... I avereaged 20 hours of work a day for the 10 years I was at the process.
