So what system do you want?

Good question - despite being labelled a liberal (by those who are nice to me, those who are not nice say much worse :) ) I am convinced that capitalism is the fairest system that can be found.

True, there are weaknesses and abuses, but if the consumer would stand up and vote with his wallet those would soon be solved.

For example, there is no doubt that China is a leader in the abuse of its citizens. US corporations could quickly be brought in to line if concerned people would just not buy Chinese product.

Please, do not attack the example, it is just cited to remind us that the consumer has the responsibility and the ability to keep corporations in line.

Not all of the outsourcing was because labor costs were too high.

A fair number of outsourcing is because of Government Regulation and Taxation that makes it nearly impossible to do certain businesses in the US.

Greedy bean counters *do* have an effect.

When I worked for Dixie-Narco, Inc. They mover there cable harnessing to Mexico... The number of reworks at least doubled because of bad quality of the crimps.

There was no reason for the move, except they *thought* it would enhance the bottom line.

But, it had just the opposite effect because of the mraole hit the plant took as the rework numbers came in. And, it wasn't Mexico that took the hit it was the US Plant Managers and Workers who were blamed!

AFAIK that US plant is now closed...

Any system will work if the group is small enough. No system will work when it gets to large.

Rescind the Constitution and reorganize under the Articles as 50 sovereign nations under a mutual defense pact and the freedom to travel between states/nations as originally intended. We could have 50 experimental economies with 50 taxing schemes. The best schemes would attract population and the losers would lose. If Utah wants to organize under the LDS and Alabama decides to require Baptist Church membership for voting, none of my business.

I'd like to see some examples of outsourcing because of taxes and government regulation.

>Please describe how your social democracy is going to reward the hardest worker better than capitalism.

Seems to me under capitalism the people with the hardest and nastiest jobs get the lowest pay.

Define hardest? And why do you think that is?

Physically demanding, dangerous, and uncomfortable. Because they are not smart enough to climb up the food chain. Some are born into slavery. It has been that way for the 6000 years we know about.

Sounds like the creed of someone who just never tried.

Work is not harder simply because it is more physically demanding. And jobs pay what the market is willing to give for the results.

It's the same under any system. They just get paid more under the capitalist system than under any other.
