Ed, unlike you, I am not confused as to which Bible is really God's Word for the English-speaking people.Originally posted by Ed Edwards:

I use three different King James Versions:
the KJV 1611 edition
the KJV 1769 edition
the KJV 1873 edition.
The differences help illustrate easier
the real deep truths contained within
the written Word of God.
Those are on my computer desk.
You may think this is "God's Holy Bible" but as far as translations is concerned it ranks near the bottom of the barrel. The God's Holy Bible that i take to church
is God's written word for the 21st
Century (2001-2100) - the Holman Christian
Standard Bible (HCSB).

Ed Edwards,
As PastorJeff requested, I would also like to hear more about the Holman CSB. I just purchased it on the CD version (Bible Navigator) from the local Lifeway store.

Yes and he also lives in one of the most racist parts of the country too. When I lived there I could not believe the comments I heard by some people in the church.Originally posted by Dr. Bob:
I see Terry had a tongue-sticking icon, but that was not funny. That was reflective of the arrogant ethnic attitude that many KJVo deny (but express) that somehow the English-speaking people were MORE blessed, special, ONLY real Bible, blah blah blah.
Such racism and pride is reprehensible.
I came back for this?

We note this question is being ignored. Doesn't that look foolishOriginally posted by robycop3:

Terry, Ed has listed several editions of the KJV, each different from the other. Which one is your fave, and why? This is what pastor Jeff asked.
It's also availiable at www.biblegateway.comOriginally posted by Ed Edwards:
Pastorjeff: "Ed Edwards,
I haven't seen much of this Holman Bible.
I've heard good things. Tell me why you prefer it."
The HCSB is available on-line for free at:
http://bible.crosswalk.com/
along with many other good Bibles, all
of which and each of which is the Written
Word of God preserved for our generation.
I note only the HCSB is completed in the
21st century (2001-2100) where we now live.
Where are you at so far and what do you think of it? I have read the entire NT, but not the entire OT yet.Originally posted by Dr. Bob:
Reading thru the ESV presently.
