White House: Daschle Had 'Tax Issues,' Shouldn't Bar His Cabinet Confirmation

Do as I say - not as do! It's okay! Being a tax cheat - until caught - is not a hindrance to dishonest public service is it? After all DHHS is really about stealing money from some people to give it to others who didn't earn it. Yes, Daschle is certainly qualified to head up that kind of operation! He'll fit right in with the others. It'll all be settled in the "closed-door" meeting of the Senate.

Obama sure knows how to handle "change they can believe in"!

That's three Dem chairs that are held by either a five or a six digit tax cheat. And they have the nerve to point at Limbaugh as a bad example.

It's that culture of corruption form the Democratic Party.

Yep. It's only wrong if Republicans do it. Remember the fracas over Linda Chavez? She got dropped because of the big stench the Dems made over it. Another example of liberal hypocrisy.

Daschle I don't mind because he will be over HHS but I do agree with the treasury secretary otherwise known as head of the IRS. If he can't do his own taxes right then I don't know if he's the answer to the economy. But perhaps he will reform the tax laws to make filing easier.

A crook is a crook, is a crook, is a crook; that is unless he is a democrat. Also Daschle's wife is a big time lobbyist, perhaps some of his children. Of course a crook is a crook only if he is not a democrat.

I didn't know about his wife, is this another exception to the new rule?

Yet another joke...Obama can sure pick the cream of the crop. This just confirms his lack of judgment...remember all of his buddies from the past. Obama seriously has NO clue how to run a country!!!!

Come on LeBuick I know you see what's going on...Obama is not the leader you thought he would be...

It's truly amazing how much crow some can eat and refuse to acknowledge that it's just crow, and not prime rib!

Not just LB, but many more that refuse to see O for what he really is - a "0"!!

This is all just preparation for the upcoming AC, for he, too, will demand blind and unquestioned obedience.

It's a real pity that discernment has followed common sense in death

I don't know much about Daschle and sincerely didn't know anything about his wife being a lobbyist. I did however read today that he has more tax problems than originally reported and still owed the IRS.

As for Obama judgment, I guess choosing Senator Judd Gregg, Republican of New Hampshire, for commerce secretary is also a bad decision.

One thing that people must remember is that O'bama is a product of the Chicago/Daly political machine. I believe 4 of the last 5 governors have faced corruption charges, Republican and democrat.

O'bama was first elected to the state senate by getting the opposition kicked off the ticket. Before that he was what used to be called a "ward healer".

Frankly I believe that calling O'bama an "empty suit" would be flattery.

Matthew 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

2 John 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Isn't this verse about not letting false preachers stand in your pulpit? I will have to go look this one up.

And as far as the fruit, I don't think anyone is saying Daschle is a good Christian (a good fruit on the tree) but he can still be a god person.

I think the verse has several applications. And I don't consider 6 digit tax cheats good people. He is either purposefully neglectful, or he is a fool. But he is not a good person.

That should send a message to those really interested in ethics and character.

Democrats prove over and over again that requirements for ethical behavior should only apply to republicans.

1. The Republican's declared themselves the party of ethical behavior and family values.

2. You saying there hasn't been unethical republicans... Need I start with Ted Stevens or the solicitor in the bathroom stall? What about torture or firing the entire justice department? You sure you want to declare Democrats are the only unethical party?

Libs do not give much if any to charity. They want it all to be funneled though the government. But then these libs who want more of yous and my taxes don't even pay their own. So when do these guys actually support the ideologies they espouse?
