So by your logic you keep on harassing someone 70 x 7? No Jesus was speaking of forgiveness here not continuing to attempt to reconcile with someone that refuses. You need to read your bible better.
Be honest, brother, because we can all see what your position was on drinking and it was not teetotalism as doctrine. My position on drinking changed because I read the books "God gave Wine", "drinking with Calvin and Luther", among others. I learned what the Bible really taught on the issue and I learned that it considers alcohol a blessing and I was to take advantage of the blessing. Scripture alone does not teach teetotalism.

One poster asked if you were praying for your wife and son and providing for them financially. Please answer this question.
You probably would have liked Old Testament Times. Very legalistic, few people caring for one another. Divorce was up to the man to decide. The wife could not oppose him. Women were like slaves back then. They had to do whatever the man wanted. It was all husband-centered, not wife-centered. Isn't that what you're saying it should be like?
Are you going to support this view, by pulling New Testament scriptures out of context, saying that the wife should submit to her husband, and not that is a mutual submission, one to the other?
Reconciliation can be very difficult. Buried resentments come to the surface. But forgiveness is essential. God can soften both of your hearts. But it begins with one partner seeking out God for His love and wisdom.

I think scripture teaches something very different. Before we are born anew, all our works of righteousness are as filthy rags to God. But after we are born anew, we are a new creation created for good works. Thus when we engage in ministry, in soul winning, in planting, tilling, and watering, we are engaged in "good works" for which scripture says we will receive rewards such that we enter heaven "abundantly."

Here are your words: "While the Bible does not explicitly forbid the drinking of alcoholic beverages, my convictions about this issue flow not only from scripture but also from my own former struggles as I wrestled against the grip of alcohol. While I have never been an alcoholic, I cannot say that I have never been drunk. I grew up in a social environment where it was widely accepted for Christians to drink, yet I tried for years to abstain from drinking. To my own hurt, the social pressures would sometimes become too difficult to resist and I would give into the pressures and drink in social settings. I discovered Mike's Hard Lemonade, which has an addicting taste to it, but contains enough alcoholic content to get someone drunk, as I got on several occasions. I would sometimes drink after a depressing moment, or when I just wanted to feel the high of alcohol. I would mostly drink at home, or at a party or special event, so by the grace of God I never drove after a drink or broke any laws. "
Back then you believed that drinking was permitted in Scripture but a poor choice for you. But again, drinking is not the point. The point is that you changed your view over drinking for the same reason you transgressed your marriage vows and abandoned your wife. I can accept that Christ is at the center of your salvation, but I am trying to get you to realize that YOU are at the center of your religion. This needs to change.
More than you love your wife and her children and family?I love it!
Your love for this inanement toy is not in question. Your claim of inability to support your family is though when you think nothing of dropping $500 on a toy.Apple Watch is no toy but a powerful and useful tool. I love it!
That's fine. Everyone has the right and responsibility to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling. The foundational Baptist beliefs in Priesthood of the believer and Soul Freedom support this responsibility.Hi Follow the Way:
We agree that folks who have not been born anew, strive to do works of righteousness, but they are as filthy rags to God.
We disagree that born anew believers cannot be motivated in part by the promise of rewards.2 Peter 1:10-11
The organized church is struggling largely because it has strayed from the teachings of Jesus and become much more political. Jesus would have supported individual Christians speking out on matters of morality but He never supported organized Christians supporting political parties or candidates. The world looks at the organized church and sees a lot of hypocrisy. Biblically this is stated:If marriage is a reflection of the relationship between Jesus and the church (Ephesians 5?)...and the church was/is treating Jesus poorly (topic for another thread?)...when should Jesus give up on the church?

A couple of verses for your comsideration:

You are in God's eyes as your "divorce" was without biblical foundation.I am not married anymore!
What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”Hello? Hello? I am not married anymore!
You are in God's eyes as your "divorce" was without biblical foundation.
You yourself has admitted that there was no Biblical reason for the divorce. My critics will always find a way to blame me.
