Many of the Lenten and Christmas rituals are of Pagan origin which were introduced into and grew up in the early Church of Rome.
So, many Baptists avoid all Christmas and "Easter" ritual (or anything that appears to be ritualistic).
However the Pagan meaning behind these practices has been lost in history (e.g. the Easter egg hunt).
I don't have a dogmatic opinion (and I will eat a chocolate easter egg at home).
To know the Pagan meanings behind the practices, read The Two Babylons, by Alexander Hislop.
