Luke 22:19-21
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.

He almost got it right. The present passive participle reads in English as a state of being verb.

"We who are saved" (state of being verb) vice "we who are being saved" (action verb). Non-temporal, remember?

τοὺς σωζομένους, as you rightly say, is the present passive participle, where the literal meaning must be, "those saved from time to time", an ongoing "adding" as they were being saved.

"Non-temporal" means no "time to time." It means "those who are in (the state of being) saved."

Yes. Luke often addresses things according to subject rather than chronology.

RC Sproul said a Calvinist hold all 5 points or none. Ok. None. What frightens me is the acceptance by young men. I think young men like a system, set up and ready to go. Calvinism is that system. It requires understanding of the system but not the Scriptures
Hello J D

Good question Icon. I wonder what scriptures James Donovan thinks I don't understand?

Perhaps he could list just a few, for a starting point, and we could discuss them.
