I think that DD has a good handle on this. It is a sin because it goes against the natural order that God created. Therefore, it is rooted, as is all sin, in rebellion.

Looking at Romans chapter one it appears that homosexuality is at the bottom of a downward progression, which is the direction all sin takes us. Stay on the ride too long and you finally hit bottom.

I understand that homosexuality is rebellion. Quintessentially ALL sin is rebellion. I want to know what, from a moral point of view, homosexuality is. This is what I am trying to determine. I know that it is not love, at least not pure love. It is tainted lust.

My studies so far have led me to believe that homosexuality is the continual practice of giving in to your inner lusts. continual lust is something that is not typically found in a woman. Lust for the most part is a dominating factor in the male species. You might say we are sexually driven. I think a study once said men think about sex every twelve seconds or so. A man who does not try to get through these constant pop up thoughts but decides to give in to them allows that desire to be the staple of his life. Finding no woman who shares a continual lust-filled mind to extract this emotion into a man will tend to search for one who thinks the way he does, another man.

As I said this is my research so far. It is very rough draft and is prone to changing to the point of being somehting completely different. Not my belef just a rough draft of the results of my studies.

God calls homosexuality an abomination not just a sin. Therefore if God said it then we should obey Him. The Bible is God's word. It is our ultimate authority on how God thinks about "things". (Leviticus 18:22)

Those OT sexual laws were just for Jews, like the Sabbath and Passover, and eating those awful pigs and lobsters.

homosexuality seems to be the only "thing" that Christians still go back to the OT to get God's comments and rules on.

Go back to the OT for food laws, and that's forbidden; that was just for Jews.

Go back to the OT to verify keeping the Sabbath and biblical feasts, and that's forbidden; that was just for God's followers of olden times.


But Christians love going back to the OT for sexual laws, inorder to understand how an eternal God never changes His eternal Laws.

As to the O.T. sexual laws, one does not have to appeal to them for clarification as to what God says regarding homos.

Romans 1 is clear that a man desiring a man and a woman desiring a woman are the result of a) judgment by God, and b) suppression of truth.

Again, hetero sex is natural. It is only allowed in the marital relationship though. Homo desires are unnatural and never allowed.

Where in the New Testament does the blood of Christ make sin become acceptable. Old Testament or New, rebellion is still rebellion. Christ may have allowed exemption to the laws concerning diet and nutrition (these laws were for the benefit of man anyways), yet I find no place that excuses murder, theft, homosexuality, or any other transgression against moral law.

2. There are those who claim that it cannot be a sin because it is a mental illness, thus implying that it cannot be helped as a cold cannot be avoided. This belief is that it is wrong but not sin as the need for medical help must be applied.

The Bible plainly says that homosexuality is a sin. Sin is a choice. It is the choice to turn away from morality and cling to immorality.

My question is this. All sin has a logical conclusion behind it that even a lost man will recognize. Example, murder is wrong because it wrongfully ends the life of another. Theft is wrong because it involves taking that which rightfully belongs to another. Anger is wrong because it destroys relationships. Why is homosexuality sin? What makes it sin? Other than simply saying because it goes agasint the natural order or because God said it is sin why is homosexuality sin? What is the very essence and nature of homosexuality that makes it sin?

It is sin because it goes against the natural intended creation of God for mankind in the area of having a mate for procreation through sexual pleasure.
