Why Should I Feel Threatened by Gay Marriage?

The question is "How does God feel about homosexuality"?

Well, I think God put an exclammation mark in history about the way He felt about it. It is called Sodom and Gommorah.

Many parts of the church are becoming too lenient with regard to homosexuality. God wants people to turn from it because it is an abomination and destructive to their soul. The church should oppose homosexuality as a lifestyle and should not condone or tolerate any form of it and that also means so-called gay civil unions( of which Bush supported and is more example of the "integrity" of Mr. Credibility). Christians should wholly accept all those who are willing to turn from and renounce it as sinful and the love of Christ in the church should show no prejudice against those who have turned from it. The church should be especially diligent on this issue as there is an effort to make homosexuality "more" acceptable in a growing number of denominations and it should not let pass during this time of the catholic priest abuse issue to take an even firmer stand against homosexuality.

I personally have had homosexuals who were members of my church. We did not treat them differently from other members.

What I am saying is that I do not in any shape, fashoin or form, condone Homosexual Marriage, Homosexual activity, or the Homosexual lifestyle.

I will vote against Homosexual Marriage anytime it's on the ballot.

I am not a homosexual and I believe as you do that it is sin, but they have every right to a civil union if that is what they want. They have the right to sin, as do all sinners. And we would all be in heaven instead of here on Earth.

BTW, they can have everything they want through the legal system we already have. A Power of attorney, A Will, Joint Property Ownership. Not should they be able to have health insurance. That does hurt the rest of us because it causes our health insurance rates to go up.

BTW some corporations that have bent over backwards to offer health coverage for gay partners have not offered the same coverage for heterosexual partners. That is what is blatantly unfair!

Why would you wish something for them and not for homosexuals?

Adding a homosexual partner does not increase your health benefit. I don't see how you figure that! A company either pays for the whole deal outright or they take the premium from the employees pay.

I guess you haven't kept up on the current tax bills. They are being changed to make it more beneficial for people to be married, as part of the whole 'family values' deal.

My grandmother went with me to vote as well. She voted for Bush last year too. It was the first time she had voted since FDR was running. She had been a lifelong Democrat supporter.

My grandmother's sister, Aunt Opal, was a lifelong Democrat, but she couldn't stand President Bush. She would not vote though because she refused to vote for a Republican and she wouldn't vote for, in her words, "a baby killer" (meaning the Democrats). We had many a good argument before she died last year. I still miss doing that with her.

We should cherish the time we have with one another, even in our arguments.

This thread has gone on long enough. Romans Chapter One makes it perfectly clear how God views homosexuality. It is a clear violation of Baptist Board posting rules to promote sexual immorality, including gay marriage. End of debate.
