Why so slow?

Once again it seems that BB is improving things worse. Am I the only one who is having trouble around here. Inordinate amount of time for pages to load, computer freezing and having to log off and log back on etc. Its not my computer because BB is the only web site that I am having problems with. I am losing my patience. Is this a temporary situation that will eventually improve? HELP!!!!!

When I get on BB , it takes over 2 minutes for the homepage to come up.. and the same amount of time for each sublevel.
I get the blue background of BB, and the word "done" on the status bar.. but nothing else for 2 minutes.

BUT it straightens out after I have gone to each sublevel...

And as long as I keep a window open with BB... it works fine.. but if I close that window, it is slow again.

BB is the only place on the net this is happening to me.
Also, if i watch my status bar at the bottom, it appears to hang on a google ad.

If this is happening to you, maybe you can do what I have been doing.. after the intial few pages, BB works right... sooo.. I have been keeping a BB window open all the time... and using other windows for other places on the net.

I also sent in a support ticket hoping this will be fixed.

mine is slow and doesn't straighten out at all, no matter how long I'm here or how many forums I visit. I just don't spend as much time here now because of it,,
you can applaude over that now

Finally, *gasp*, a program that keeps up with my speed!

Cheers,

Jim

PS. I am having the same problem at christianforums.com

I hate to brag here, but I'm not having any trouble at all. (Of course, now that I've said that, I'll probably start having trouble!)

Can you please post what browser you are using if getting a slowdown? Also, I have made some tweaks please let me know if you see a difference.

IE6...

Windows XP..

Still slow... but not as slow.. 20 seconds with nothing but the blue BB background for the home page..
Clicked on General discussions forum.. it went right through.. great.
Clicked on this thread.. 35 seconds with just blue background.

I have DSL.. it usually takes 3 seconds on any page otherwise.

Thanks Andrew.

I'm running FireFox, and am having no problems - so far.

Had to get used to the new page, but other than that no sweat!

Same scenario using different forum and thread..

But whatever you did sped up the time to open a forum link.. it's working right now. for me.

Just the homepage is slow.. and individual threads are slow.

I've been having trouble, too. It's very, very slow!

I feel dumb saying this, but I don't know what my browser is. I have Windows, that's all I know. Maybe it's Internet Explorer? But I'm not sure.

Also, I have high-speed connection (wireless).

I use Mozilla Firefox. No big problems, except the ads take some time to load up.

One trick I've learned though, is that the ads load last. If you watch your status bar, it tells you what's loading. When the ads start loading, just hit stop. The ads will stop loading, but everything else is there.
