if your friend's doctor prescribed alcohol for stomach problems, your friend's doctor should go back to med school

Oh, you're on the faculty of a med school? Where?

And this is true of grapes, barley, rye, et al.
What foolishness is this? How do grapes and rye, etc., have a sinful nature like Joseph? We call conclusions like that non sequitor.
You are not making sense.
You're lying again. It is used to represent the Kingdom also.
I am not the one that lies. Not only are you illogical; you are biblically challenged when it comes to parables. Parables don't teach doctrine. They illustrate truth that has already been taught. One of the marks of a cult is that they will take new doctrine from parables. This is what you are doing. Leaven consistently is uses to represent sin, corruption, and false doctrne, except in this parable. Now you have taken a parable and twisted the meaning of it to make the leaven mean something that it was not intended to mean. Here leaven means leaven. In the parable of the lost coin a broom means a broom. It has no special meaning. One is an instrument used for sweeping and the other is an ingredient used in baking. Both are common things found in almost every household that Jesus was using in a parable, an illustration so to speak. To the hermeneutically challenged these things escape them and new and heretical doctrines develop.
And "give it to him whose life is bitter" [Proverbs 31].
More hermeneutics needed?
How about just a plain lesson in literary devices?
First the verse in question:

Proverbs 31:6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
--Verse six (as someone tried to explain in his own words to you before), is a comparative negative. It is a literary device. It is not actually advocating to give wine or strong drink to anyone. But that has already been explained to you. No doubt someone explained "Don't cast your pearls before swine," another of Jesus' sayings that requires some thinking. He also said "He that hath ears, let him hear."
"But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."

I think this is about the longest discussion ... however, as there seems to be one board member who is using the thread as an attempt to declare their own reasoning as being the only accurate interpretation of the scripture.
There are many Baptists who hate the idea of individual liberty. That one member has an ambition to the popel, and there are 3 or 4 more who want to be his cardinals.

And God hates individuals who use their so-called liberty to sin and to cast stumbling blocks in the paths of others, causing them to sin.

And BTW, I am not a pope, nor do I aspire to be. I obey the Lord Jesus Christ and preach nothing but His Holy Word.
