And this is true of grapes, barley, rye, et al.

You're lying again. It is used to represent the Kingdom also.

And "give it to him whose life is bitter" [Proverbs 31].

Let's see, since you say that verse is speaking of alcohol and God says alcohol is poison, the way we are supposed to interpret that scripture is

Proverbs 31:6 6 Give poison unto him that is ready to perish, and venom of asps.. unto those that be of heavy hearts.

No thanks, I'll just continue to give them Jesus who can give them a joy unspeakable and full of glory. He also give them a peace that passes all understanding, by the way. No need for poison.

Is it, or isn't it, poison?
Does the Word, or does it not, say to give it to one whose life is bitter?

The Bible also tells us to have no experience with alcohol, so I would say we are not even to have it when we are bitter.

So Christ should have let the water stay water. Or he was allowing sinners to keep on making their own decisions, if there were no righteouss at his Mother's party. Maybe Christ invented a non-alcholic wine!

His mother's party? Where in the world did you get that?

Then don't be a coward to answer Yes or No. Does the Word identify alcoholic wine as its subject in Proverbs 31, then say to give it to one whose life is bitter?

We have laws today against practicing medicine without a medical degree. The New Testament tells us we are to obey those who have rule over us. Since I am not a doctor, I must adhere to the fact that I cannot dispense medicine.

Doctors have drugs that take care of dying patients, alcohol is no longer needed.

That's great that you learned your numbers!! Now you can begin learning the truth that is written in God's Word concerning alcohol.

"Give strong drink to him who is perishing, and wine to him whose life is bitter." I'll try real hard to learn that.

    Ok. I apologize.
I said that I would not return to this thread since it profits me little if any at all.

However; this comment I could not resist to reply to.

Call me weak in the flesh, ok?

Alcott; are you dying? If so then drink all the booze you want, it will make the crematory happy since you will burn more thoroughly.

Is your life bitter? Then may I suggest a strong dose of Jesus' Blood. It maketh the heart glad.

Otherwise, you can forget trying to wrest this scripture to your profit. It will only lead to your destruction.
    2Pe 3:16
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Have a jolly time boozing it up, OR if you prefer, have a jolly time encouraging others to take the poison of asps into their bosom that they might die or kill others while intoxicated.

Now Alcott, as many times as you have posted that verse if you still have not learned it, I can see why you have such a difficult time understanding that God does not want His children drinking alcoholic beverages.

    Anyone???

Nice dodge there. Now, can ANYONE here PLEASE tell me where the line for drunkeness is. Those of you who are FOR drinking in moderation have not once answered at what point do you consider a person drunk. One glass, 2 glasses, 3 glasses. Come on people. Quit the dodging and just answer the question!!!
