Wine comes from God but drunkenness from the devil!

This is something all the reformers believed. Just finished reading about Zwingli and his love for wine. I tell you these books help prove that teetotalism and those that hold to it are not of God or at lest hold to something unbiblical. I mean the reformers were against teetotalism, the colonials, and so many others. Why is it that it takes up to this century after the Temperance movement to popularize teetotalism? It was not a popular ideology amongst Christian's that lived in the past.

This is not a rhetorical question: How many threads have been started about alcohol in the past three or so years?

Seems like many.

I think I'm more concerned about the last three weeks than the last three years. March has turned into booze month.

Evan- If you can honestly tell yourself that you have no problem with alcohol, that your conscience is clear about its consumption, and that you in no way dishonor Our Lord by drinking it; why bring it up so often? As it is, you seem to look for affirmation that it is okay.

A challenge for you. Completely abstain from alcohol for one month. If you find that you crave it at any time, I would think that you have your answer if you have a problem with it.

[Edited: Quoting deleted post.]

Judging from your defensive response, it seems like you need help but do not realize it yet.

There was no attack. Just concern.

I have zero problems with alcohol these days! Have not been drunk since 2006 when I was foolish and almost walked into the street. But besides that one day I drink responsibly. John Calvin loved his wine and I love my Mikes hard lemonades.

Why do you prefer alcoholic lemonade over regular lemonade?

Eating dinner as I type. Think I am gonna stop by the alcohol store and pick up a pack. John Calvin, Martin Luther, John Knox and yes even the Pilgrims loved their drinks. Was reading today about the Pilgrims love for beer and wine. Can you believe it that when they had thanksgiving they drank wine?
