This number includes people shot, not just people killed. The term is "mass shooting" not "mass murder". We don't need statistics to show that we have a problem. Mass shootings are occurring more frequently and sadly the assailants are using firearms that were legally purchased. You can google "how many mass shooting in 2015" and you will get a list of websites displaying the information.

It would be helpful to have a definition of a "mass shooting". How many people need to be hit with a bullet for it to be classified as a mass shooting?

The FBI say that mass murder is four or more killed in the same event. Found this site that says 4 or more people being shot, not necessarily killed, is a mass shooting (and the shooter being killed counts toward the minimum of 4 people shot.) By their reckoning there have been 204 mass shootings so far in 2015.

"Mass shootings" are shocking and great for publicity and scoring points in the media for the anti constitutionalists.. It's kind of like the thousands of others murdered by gunfire just don't matter. Sensationalism and shock value is all that does. That's why shootings in places like Chicago are ignored. No one wants to admit that a city with the some of the strongest anti gun laws in the country is like Dodge City on steriods. More people are killed there by gunfire each year than in all the "mass shootings" combined each year, I believe. But the left is awful quiet about it. It's run by democrats, you know. And always has been.

The fact is that gun ownership nationwide has climbed dramatically in the last 5 years (thanks largely to Obama's agenda), but the number of people killed by gunfire has gone down just as dramatically in the same time period. You can complain all you like, but those are the facts. Another fact that can't be explained away...almost all mass killings are committed in gun free zones. That is not an accident.

Well, there is a 2A in this country and there are two vigilante scenarios here - the second one I think was justified and I don't have a problem at all with the charges against the woman that did shot at the shoplifter's car:

but what's really troubling to me here with the gun control crowd is that there is all this condemnation of the shooters but none for the criminals involved.

Only leftists. "Compromise" is not part of their vocabulary. Their only goal is confiscation. Always has been.

Truth to the power - any time anyone says the phrase "reasonable gun restrictions" run for the hills. They know the way to go is incrementalism, step by step, it's a winning tactic for them.
