Please explain the thought process for this statement concerning Deborah.Originally posted by Major B:
Sometimes (as with Deborah), the men of a generation and a nation are so wimpy that God chooses a woman for leadership. For instance, Britain in the 1980s--Maggie Thatcher was the only real man there...
Thank you Jailminister. I am sorry it took so long to get back to you on this.I am not sure what playing the organ has to do with this conversaton, but I see no violation of that in the scriptures.
If a woman got elected to the House of Representatives or the Senate in your district or state, would you move?Originally posted by Jailminister:
Playing The piano at church should be part of the family. It is not a "job". It also has nothing to do with leadership. I know you don't need my permission and it is your choice. Just make sure it lines up with the Word of God. Now women can lead other women, but just not the man.
For that matter, if a woman was elected to the local city or town council, or elected to the board of supervisors, school board, or appointed/elected judge in the disctrict, would he move? If his company had hired a woman to a management position, would he quit?Originally posted by ScottEmerson:

We're not rebuking the Word of God. We're rebuking your interpretation of it. They are not the same thing.Originally posted by Jailminister:
Now guys, don't be silly. What I believe is based on the Word Of God. Don't criticize me unless you are wanting to rebute God's word.
But if it is a sin for women to take leadership over men, then you are sinning by having women over you. God told us to live in the world, not succumb to sin while doing so, right? As long as we live in this present world, we will always have to try to live in it. I am sure that there are some adulterers and drunks and liars and sodomites that are elected officials from my city, county, state and country. So far I haven't moved.
The gospel is for the entire world. They may not understand the Bible until they come to know Christ, but we must realize that many parts of the Bible are written specifically for the unbelieving world. The bible is not written to the world because the world can not understand it, it is written for the child of God.
He is the propitiation not just for our sins, but for the WHOLE WORLD. The Bible is quite clear that Jesus died for the world. His blood is applicable for those who are His.Jesus did not die for the world, He died for those who were His.
I certainly have no trouble with the Word of God. My beef is with your incorrect interpretation of it. The two just aren't the same thing. If anyone has ears to hear they have no problem with the scriptures.
It is not my interpretation that you have the problem with, it is your misinterpretaion. You can't even understand what I post, much less the Bible. I don't like the baby killers, but I am not told to go out and kill them. I did not like Clinton's regime and lying and immorallity or his wife's trash mouth, but I did not leave the country, nor did Jesus. We're not rebuking the Word of God. We're rebuking your interpretation of it. They are not the same thing.

Chapter and verse please. The gospel is for the entire world. They may not understand the Bible until they come to know Christ, but we must realize that many parts of the Bible are written specifically for the unbelieving world.
No, he did not die for the seed of Satan. He is the propitiation not just for our sins, but for the WHOLE WORLD. The Bible is quite clear that Jesus died for the world. His blood is applicable for those who are His.
So you say. You better hope you are right, because I know I am right.I certainly have no trouble with the Word of God. My beef is with your incorrect interpretation of it. The two just aren't the same thing.

Chapter and verse1. There are too many to list! Everywhere that the gospel is presented or explained, it's for unbelievers. Believers don't need it because they already have it.
Chapter and verse2. Then He didn't die for you. Everyone is by nature a child of the devil until they are born again. It is thereby that they receive the power to become children of God--they are adopted by God as His children through the blood of Christ, but they are not His 'natural' children. Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world, as God's Word explicitly states.
3. If the wink in the thumbs-up emoticon is heartfelt, then OK.
All humans are made in the "image and likeness" of God. All humans are made as "very good" creations. All humans are "crowned with glory and honor", and created "a little lower than the angels".Originally posted by Jailminister:

Matt 13:9 reads, He who has ears, let him hear.Originally posted by Jailminister:
Then Just rip Matthew 13:9 out of your bible. That will help your theology.
