World Population Growth reached
1 billion in 1804
2 billion in 1927
3 billion in 1960
4 billion in 1975
5 billion in 1987
6 billion in 1998
7 billion in 2010
8 billion in 2022
Billions. Hard to get my brain around so many zeroes. But easier (and in most ways much sadder) to understand that on our planet TODAY 170,790 people in this world will DIE.
DAILY DEATHS (average, 2024)
1. 31,973 China
2. 26,166 India
3. 8,341 United States of America
4. 7,416 Nigeria
5. 5,917 Indonesia
6. 5,100 Russia
7. 4,434 Pakistan
8. 4,217 Japan
9. 4,102 Brazil
10. 2,805 Germany
The largest mission board in the US estimated that of the 170,970 who die each day in this world, more than 150,000 are NOT, by their own admission, truly “born-again Christians”. This is sobering. And personal to me. I am nearly 77 (expected lifespan of a male in Wisconsin) so recognize limited time/energy left to proclaim the Gospel. But I will. I can. I must.
