I agree. The answer that Rahab’s pagan gods were okay with lying in certain circumstances, is ludicrous because pagan god's were not real. Our God is real and there are instances in the Old Testament when people lied to save others.

The midwives. They lied to Pharoah to save the the Jewish male newborns. The outcome: "20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied and grew very mighty. 21 And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them." Exodus 1

Rahab was spared for saving the lives of the two men Nun sent to spy in Jericho. Think about the spies for a minute. Spies would normally have to lie to conceal their identities. There are several instances in the Old Testament where spies were used. There is a difference between spies and scouts.
