Do you use the term X-mas
Should we?
Is it wrong if we do?

Dose the Bible address this issue?

and now your thoughts

I dont use it - more out of what I was taught many years ago -
I do understand what Jon mentioned about the Greek
So I dont jump on anyone for using it, but it could be a good way
to get into a conversation with someone about spiritual.

I would say most people would not know about the Greek -
so I might ask them why they use an X.

I do remember in my young days - a pastor stating that "X" referes to the unknown.
an. this pastor did go to Bible college, so you would assume he learned a little about
the Greek. language.

It's a Roman Catholic holiday Christ Mass. I don't observe it but am glad that it keeps Christ up in lights.

no one says I’m going to prefer the Greek more do I’ll use that. It’s used because people are too lazy

most people who use it have no idea about the Greek and it’s very important to make the name of Christ prominent. Christians should be proud to make Christ prominent and not lazy or make louzy excuses

I don't think it is wrong. It is tge Greek letter Christians used.

But I prefer Christmas.
Does not matter what it meant 2000 years ago. The modern usage was made popular by those wanting Christ left out of Christmas. No way I would use it

Dave- you answered a question I did NOT ask.

But since you brought it up - since Trinity is not in the Bible and the Catholics do believe in the Trinity - that must mean that you do not believe in the Trinity.

I pointed out your mentioning Xmas also comes from the Roman Catholic MASS. You discuss the X, why not the MASS?

Most people today do not know the letter used is not the Latin ex X but the Greek letter chi X. So X-mas is not to be pronounced Eksmas but Christmas. The Greek chi X meaning Christ.
I know what means, but I will not uses it because of the common mispronunciation of Eksmas.

When you start answering my questions, I might consider answering yours.

I normally don't answer anyone's questions who generally oppose me. I might rephrase them before answering.

Then there is no reason to be on a discussion board such as this!

But now at least we know where you are coming from!

PS
Then I suppose you have answered at least on question
Since I do believe in the Trinity - evidently you do not - Thank you

Believe it or not, Some benefit from what I say, look at my ratings. But I normally place those who love to argue on ignore. I've got quite a list there too. I believe in the trinity. Anyone can look up my posts on the subject. (Snip) when you say otherwise about me? Can you prove you are (snip) about my commitment to the doctrine of the trinity?

I always use "Christmas" because CHRIST is the reason for the season, and "Xmas" seems disrespetful to me. Many people don't know the Greek that well.

I almost always use "xmas" in a text, except to Mom. Mom's more concerned about it than Jesus. In more formal writing, never.

Back when file names were limited to eight characters, "xmascard" was the file name for my list of addresses. Still is, actually.

Many Baptists did not celebrate it until the late 1800s some even into the 29th century due to it Catholic tone
