If he called on Clinton to resign merely and only because of his extra-marital relationship, then he should resign as well. If Sanford said it was the right thing for Clinton to do, it is the right thing for Sanford to do.

You have it correct in my book. One should not expect more out of others than he does himself.

I felt like Clinton should have resigned and I feel the same way way about Sanford.
