Adam did choose to sin. And God pronounced the curse, which is physical death.

Where do you get the idea that Adam was created with spiritual life and then died spiritually? Where do you get the idea that, other than Adam's eyes being opened, Adam experienced a change in his nature? Where do you get the idea of a "sin nature"?

These passages disprove your ideas (please take the time to read God's Words here):

You say: Adam died spiritually and then physically.

But God says: Hebrews 9:27. And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,

You say: The result of Adam's sin was spiritual death.

But God says: Genesis 3:19 For you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

You say: Adam was created spiritual.

But God says:. 1 Corinthians 15:45–47 So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.

You and God are saying VERY different things.

Why should we believe you over God?

I am not Presbyterian. I prefer to look to God's Word on this (and any) topic.

You have made several claims. Some of them are in the Bible, but most of them are not. Several of your claims are the exact opposite of what is written in God's Word.

I have provided passages that are different from what you claim.

You have failed to provide ANY passages confirming what you are saying. I offer Scripture and you offer Sproul.

Should we believe you or Sproul over God?

    Yes. The Garden of Eden

Genesis 2:7 The Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed.

God created Adam outside of the Garden, placed him in the Garden, cast him out of the Garden, and placed an angel to guard the Garden.

My point is Adam was taken from where he was created and placed in a specific situation. He did not originally exist in the Garden

Genesis 3:23–24 therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

    Thank you.

I just do not understand why members refuse to go to Scripture. Sure, our views may have to change. And sure, there may be things we do not fully understand. But God gave us His Word. I cannot understand why we would look elsewhere.

Well, you've heard the old saying, "It's better to remain silent and look like a fool ..."

The same is true when it comes to Scripture. To be honest, I believe the Restrainer is limiting the sin of some by not allowing them into His Word.

    God bless.
