Good Morning!

I only got half of Brent's bedroom painted yesterday. We ended up having to scrape the whole ceiling. The paint had been sprayed on years ago and when we tried to paint over it, it came down in clumps. We had to scrape down to the drywall with a putty knife. What a mess!

It has cooled down to 68º this morning with an expected high of 85º. It is very sticky weather, but at least it's not baking us!

Have to run. Time to grab the paint brush.

HAGD!

Good Morning Everyone!

I have a problem. I have things to do, but I'm not motivated to do any of them! It's quiet in the house and I really feel like sleeping. What I really think is that I need more coffee!

Off to make a new pot. Sour cream pound cake is on the counter. It's the best I could come up with this morning!

Hi ya'll.
Praise the Lord, we finally got rain last night--a major thunderstorm with hail, to be exact. We needed it so bad. All the grass is scorched and my poor flowers are barely alive, even though I water them constantly.

Looks like another hot one today. I'm going to stay inside and sew skirts for me and the girls for school. (at least try to)

Good morning Sheila! Thanks for checking in. How are things on the other side of the BIG pond? Is the flood and it's after effects are finally over? We were keeping you folks in prayer. Barnabas :type:

To my mind, there is nothing more fascinating than when God's creation works together in unity. A foretaste of Glory. Wonderful photos. Thank you, Brother Barnabas.

Cheers,

Jim

I think there is the making of a sermon there.

Good Afternoon Everybody,

I spent the whole day yesterday trying to log on to the BB. Finally AOL got it together and recogonized the new server. I'm just waiting for SBC [the communications provider...not the church] to come to our area and I'll kiss AOL goodbye for good.

We're still enjoying much cooler weather than those of you in the South. I e-mailed all of you some of the cooler weather but the email must be slow.

The grandkids are at their Father's this weekend so it is eerily quiet around here.

I brought in Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches, Cilantro Potato Salad, Banana Pepper Slaw, and Deep-Dish Blueberry Pie with Whipped Cream for dessert. Enjoy.

Going out to reap the harvest of the garden.

Hi Barnabas

Thank you to all for your prayers.

There is still some water around from the floods. There are a lot of people who have had to leave their homes and find other accomodation until their homes are repaired. This could take months. The devestation is still obvious in some areas. It is still possible to see how high the water was and in some places the smell is quite unpleasant. I understand that in Tewkesbury there are caravans in front gardens of homes that are currently uninhabitable so your prayers for these people are most welcome.

Blessings

Good morning all,

I'm happy to see so many people checking in.

We finally got the front of the house done (around the sun porch anyway)! That allowed us to put up our new door awning, 'post' mailbox, porch light, door bell, and house numbers. It is looking really good.

We only have the high gable left to do on the front of the house and the soffets, fascias, and gutters on the rest of the house.

I will post a picture when we finish the whole front of the house.

It probably won't be this week, because we have rain forecast all week and Brent starts school Tuesday. Notwithstanding the rain, school will cut down on the amount of time he has to work on the house.

It still amazes me that he is doing all of this by himself (with what little help I can offer). Everyone who stops by is just as amazed as I am that a 13-year-old has done all this work. I am certainly proud of his work ethic and steadfastness. I know he will be glad when it is finished, but he hasn't quit!

The rain has already started. At least it has cooled things down a bit. That is a welcome relief!

Y'all have a great day!

I have been quite busy this past week.

My nephew - Jared Fisher - 20 (used to post as "Guitar25") was in a serious auto accident on August 12 - 7:40 AM.

Jared has a fractured skull - three fractured vertibraes in his neck - and various other bruises. Jared was placed in a medically induced coma by the doctors to try and stop the brain swelling. His neck is in a brace to prevent any further damage.

They are currently bringing him out of the coma - his ICP (inter-cranial pressure) numbers are doing well. At some point they will have to address his neck.

I would ask you to pray that God will have His will done in this situation. Pray that his mother - Joy (my sister) - will accept whatever the Lord has in mind for Jared. Pray that his father - Rod - who has not been with the family for a number of years - will be drawn back to the Lord through this incident. Pray for his brother Jacob - 17 (used to post as "MasterUtaro__bass).

Jared was to be a junior at Davis College (formerly Practical Bible College) - Binghamton, NY this fall.

Thank you for praying.

Dan

Sorry to hear that Bro. Dan. I have prayed for your nephew, Jared, lifting him and his family up to the throne of grace. Back in 1961 I had similar accident, collided with a truck, fractured my scull, three of my vertebraes, broke my right knee cap, and suffered other internal injuries. For three days they did nothing, except pumping me with morphine as I was close to passing on to eternity. After the surgery my doctor called me a miracle man. But I told him that the Lord has healed me because believers were praying for me. And now I am in my 69th year of sojourning here on earth. Jared will be well, for the Lord hears our prayers! :)

Good Morning Everyone!

Not much going on here today. A little cleaning, a little school work and a couple of phone calls to make. That's about it!

Dan, I'll be praying for your nephew.

Praying for Jared, Bro. Dan.

I love those pics, Bro. Barnabas! Chipmunks are so adorable. We have lots of them running around our yard.

I'm trying to keep my grass and flowers alive. They stay wilted during the day even with consistant watering--I guess it's just too hot with temps in the low 100's.

Sue, Brent is amazing! I know you're really proud of him. That's a great skill to learn.

Well I'm off to the car repair shop. My hubby's car is making a funny noise, so have to get it checked out. It's probably from all the heat lately!

See ya'll later, and Have a good day!

Dan, we will uphold this lad and his family in prayer. May the Lord have His way with him and his family that they all may be one in Him.

We travail during the pain, but amazingly look back after and bless the Lord for the experience that draws us nearer.

Cheers,

Jim

Good Afternoon Everybody,

Dan, Praying for Jared and the rest of the family, and that he has a complete and relatively pain-free recovery.

Just wanted to let everybody know that the midwest did not have an erthquake this morning. The 5.5 seismic reading was caused by my tripping and falling. I am now the owner of two fractured ribs, and a mild concussion.

Not much they can do for either of them either. I'm on pain meds, and have been taught how to take a breath-hold it- and let it out slowly so I don't develop pneumonia. Sneezing and coughing are an entirely different matter. I'm sittin here huggin' a pillow so I don't die when I cough or sneeze.

My cooking is going to be suspended for awhile. I guess the only things that would be appropriate would be "drop" biscuits.

I've still got a monster headache to go with my rib pain, so I'm going to lie down for awhile. I can only lie on my right side, anything else is too painful.

I'll try to check in later.
