I'm reading this right now too. :) Along with Basic Christianity and 'The Bumps are for Climbing On' by Warren Wiersbe... and 'The Shack' as well as a Psalm and Proverb a day and my Zig Ziglar Daily Devotional.

I can't seem to spend enough time to satisfy myself in God's word lately! I love it! :)

Just started America in Crimson Red by James Beller.Book is sub-titled "The Baptist History of America," and deals with the influences of Baptists in the formation of our nation, and many of the influential Baptists who were once well-known, but are now mostly unknown, even among Baptists. We haven't done a very good job of passing down our heritage to the current generation, or the previous generation for that matter. :tonofbricks:

Just finished The Venetian Betrayal by Steve Berry. Just fun reading. Berry combines history with fiction.

    Currently reading:

    1. The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner by James Hogg. Published in 1824 Wikipeida say the following:

    2. Dreams from My Father by Barack Obama.

So far a much better memoir than I anticipated. Interesting stories of his family and his life.

    baptistteacher:
The book you are reading America in Crimson Read sounds very interesting.

An abridged version of The Death of Death in the Death of Christ, by John Owen. I couldn't read the original by Owen no matter how hard I concentrated so I wimped out and got the abridged version.

I reread Bryson's The Mother Tongue: English & How It Got That Way every couple years; one of my favorites.

Just finished Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, first time I'd read it. Headed to the library today to look for something new...

The Misunderstood Jew: the Church and the Scandal of the Jewish Jesus by Amy-Jill Levine. Levine is a professor of New Testament at Vanderbilt Divinity School. She is also Jewish. She came out to our church and did a program on a Wednesday night. It was very interesting. She is a very engaging speaker, and clearly knows her material. I've almost finished the Introduction, and I'm looking forward to finding out what she has to say.
