Please list the IFB philosophies that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. Then please give us proof that the majority of IFB churches adhere to these philosophies. Until you do these two things, you are doing nothing but spouting off hateful rhetoric, Rick.

I have been doing this for days. Kjvo for one example. And it doesn't have to be the majority.

I understand that you think KJVO is heretical. Why don't you give some other examples? Also, please explain how the philosophies exalt themselves against the knowledge of God.

If it doesn't take a majority, what does it take for you to condemn an entire group of people? If one IFB church practices something, will you call out all IFB? Is your church SBC? Would it be fair for me to call out the entire SBC for a single zealot pastor at a little country church in Mississippi?

Yes, I agree. I didn't go into such detail, but thank you.

I think it does God a service to point out the evils of the Roman Catholic Church.

I believe it is evident in looking at Revelation that the Roman Catholic Church is definitely the Whore mentioned.

Most sbc do condemn the hyper-independence and legalism found within so many IFB churches.

Will those two issues keep a person from being saved? NO

The independence issue is biblical (seperation from the world). We do heavily oppose the ecumenical practices of the SBC. We will worship with doctrinally sound churches of any faith, but the SBC has recently had close ties with RCC and others that we would not worship with.

Legalism, yes, if you go to a church this is of the Hyles ilk you will encounter rampant legalism. But you will find that most IFBer's oppose this even more than you.

OK, two minor issues down, but neither have any real meat nor make my church heretical.

What does that have to do with anything?

But since you mention it, I think it does hinder kingdom progress which does indeed cost many their souls.

The way most IFB churches do it that most of us on bb are familiar with is not biblical. It is cultic.

    We have an accord.

Rick, you've stated that most IFB churches practice separation in a non-biblical fashion. Please provide proof for these statements. Until you do, you are simply spreading gossip and hearsay.

I am sorry, but you being in the pulpit with your holier-than-thou arrogant attitude is probably costing more people their souls than 10 heretic churches.

You would sure turn me off. In fact I would probably leave before you finished your sermon.

    Good point Matt

Rick, just what is unbiblical seperation?

Yes you do. That's why you have a fit when people don't agree with ancient theologians and don't know church history by heart.

Ok. You've lost me here. We do not have close ties with the RCC that I'm aware of.

I had no idea you were in a pulpit. I have never heard a Pastor say
some of the insulting things you have said. I will pray for you.

What kind of preacher would say this? If you think Seeking is in error and you are teaching against error, wouldn't you want him in your church so he could learn correct doctrine (assuming that's what you teach)? A pastor is a shepherd and should be protecting the flock, not kicking them out.

    Consider the source!

Posters like Luke2427 appear to be concerned with defending the Faith, while anyone reading his posts see this is not true. His intent is to criticize and argue with everyone who doesn't marvel at his great education and knowledge of church history. His favorite tactic is to insult and question the salvation of those who engage with him but don't agree with his beliefs. He is crafty; he does this while skirting the rules. He stays just inside the rules to keep from being banned. He seldom says anything positive or uplifting. Reading an extended number of his postings makes me glad I am not a Calvinists!

I protect my flock from Philosophies and theologies and ideologies that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God.

Those who warmly coddle them are not good pastors. How BACKWARDS is the thinking of some people!
