When are the saints actually Glorified ?
Rom 8:29-30
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate,
them he also called: and whom he called,
them he also justified: and whom he justified,
them he also glorified.
When are the saints actually glorified ? Most will admit that the saint or believer has been predestinated in the past, called past, Justified past, Glorified future ! However, even though there is a most glorious experience of Glorification awaiting the Believer, and a manifestation of the same, that truth no way detracts from the Glorification the Believer now possesses. The word glorified is the greek word doxazō
think, suppose, be of opinion
2) to praise, extol, magnify, celebrate
3)
to honour, do honour to,
hold in honour
4) to make glorious, adorn with lustre, clothe with splendour
a) to impart glory to something, render it excellent
b) to make renowned, render illustrious
1) to cause the dignity and worth of some person or thing to become manifest and acknowledged
It means honored, dignified, exalted to Glory. It is written
Lk 17:15
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice
glorified God,
Yes a grateful leper glorified God. It is said that men shall see your good works and Glorify your Father which is in Heaven
Matt 5:16 ! Now lets look at
1 Pet 4:14
14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye;
for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
The believer is Glorified now because of the Spirits prescience with them and in them, even Christ, Christ in them the hope of Glory. The Believer is Glorified by reason of their sufferings and reproaches for Christ's sake. And it is given by God, not only to believe on Christ but also to suffer for Christ's Sake
Phil 1:29
29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also
to suffer for his sake;
Rom 8:17
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him,
that we may be also glorified together.
Also, Christ's Glorification began when He was raised from the dead, and so was all His Members that He represented, and they were made to sit down together in heavenly places
Eph 2:5-6
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved )
6 And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Yes, even that is a present glorification of all for whom Christ died ! So Glorification is just like Salvation, or Justification, an aspect of it is experienced in this Life, and there is yet a future aspect of Salvation, Glorification, Justification and Redemption; For the Believer has been redeemed, and yet looks forward to the day of redemption, the Redemption of the Body, which is also Glorification !
