Thanks for your good and respectful reply.

Considering some of the "heat" being generated, I thought injecting some humor might help the situation.

I still don't hold to Calvinism, though, for many reasons.

2Ti 2:23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

The way your question is worded it indeed is a foolish question.
Besides that I have answered it many times already. If you want an answer read the thread.

    Rebel,
I got to say although we disagree with this issue, your responses are refreshing. I appreciate a civil response. There is no excuse for the Calvin-free will debate producing what I have seen. It borders on accusing others of not being saved.

Don't call me foolish again. You have problems. You do not know how to address the issue so you attack the person when you are the one in error. You really have something going on in you. If you had ever read Matthew 6, I do not think you would be throwing the term fool around like you do some of the other names you have called folks.

FYI, not that it makes any difference. This is the code of conduct for the board I administer. Think about it.

New Rules for the admins in our Groups.

Admins are encouraged to support the other admins at all times by posting in a supportive manner for the other admins and by hitting the like buttons on post that support the admin and the groups rules, and viewpoints.

If you should have a problem with another admin, member, or any problem, in any way, shape, or form, contact me by Private Messaging me and state your case in full detail. If I don't get back to you right away and you cannot wait because of some urgency, you can e-mail me @ the7thCavalry@charter.net or xxxxxxxx@yahoo.com. You may also and are encouraged to Private Message any other Admin when in need of advise. It would be wise to be friends with all the other admins so we can all communicate with each other with ease.

Please go over the list of “ False Teachings, False Religions, and Cults” Go over it with a fine tooth comb and make sure you understand and acknowledge all to be accurate and agreement with you. If not bring it to the groups attention in the admin group. So we can discuss it. Then go to the list of “False Teachers Past and Present and do the same. Be honest with yourself and with us, by doing so maybe we can all help each other and learn from this. Right now both list are pinned at the top of Cults and Wolves.

Please go over the groups rules in the about section. If you have any questions about them let me know, asap. They are there for our use, and in many cases a way out for us instead of useless debate and argument with those who are not teachable and come to our groups to teach us and correct us in the error of our ways.

Now comes the hard part, as admins/moderators of our groups it is our responsibility to uphold the groups rules at all times, using discretion of course. One of the most important task we have is protecting our members from abusive and rude behavior/post from other members. Therefore a time will come when a member must be warned, and even removed from the group. This is not an easy thing for many of us, but it is what we do as admins. If for any reason you think you will not be able to do this then it would probably safe to assume you are not admin material, and there is nothing wrong with that, but it is something we must be able to do in order to be an efficient group of admins.

I would ask each one of our admins to be careful about getting into an argument/debate with other members. But if you have to and sometimes we do, please remember to be Christ-Like at all times and remember many other members are watching and listening to what we post. As admins we are automatically set to a higher standard by many members, therefore we should post in a professional and Christ-Like manner at all times.

God Bless each and everyone of you.

Thank you! I always try to realize that things get said on a forum that probably wouldn't be face-to-face, and I have been guilty of that too in the past. I'm trying not to do that here. Two of my best friends in "real life" :) are a Roman Catholic and a Calvinist.

Why is this so difficult to understand? All are created with faith as part of their very nature. Everyone exercises faith in many things. Sometimes you gotta wonder why people cannot see how simple Jesus made this and how clear he spoke on this thy even a child can understand it. But then "wise and learned" men come all and add all kinds of weird stuff as if it is a mystery to God's elect. No wonder folks go into Calvinism kicking and screaming!!!

    1. I said it was a foolish question.
    2. I quoted you scripture. I told you why.
    3. If you read the thread you will find my answer.

My answer has also been given elsewhere like here:
    http://www.baptistboard.com/showpost.php?p=2194194&postcount=187

Your question (if it be one) charges Christ with foolishness, at the very least, if not total ignorance.

This post simply tells me you can't answer the scripture in the link provided which is also re-posted in this thread which you apparently didn't read.

Use of the word "fool" or "foolish" is the most vile name one can call another believer according to Matthew 6. It pales all the curse words we have ever thought up. It shows a total lack of disrespect for brothers and sisters in Christ. It is even amplified more so by a leader of a New Testament Church. You do not have to worry about me replying to your posts again. As they say on Shark Tank, Im out.

Is this really a true accusation, or a wrong interpretation of a verse taken out of context?
    Let's examine scripture:

Luke 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
--Here Jesus calls his own disciples "fools."
Was it total disrespect, the strongest of all curse words that Christ could have used against his own disciples? You be the judge.

1 Corinthians 4:10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.
--Is Paul cursing himself; disrespecting himself?

Ephesians 5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
--Why was it that Paul gave this admonition to the Ephesian believers?
Were they angry with their brothers calling them fools and in danger of the judgment cursing each other?

The word "foolish" is used 52 times in the Bible, and in the NT it is often used to describe the believer.

It is the same pattern, you left out Matthew which is the only verse that pertains to this case. Out.

I did not go into it kicking and screaming and neither did any if the Calvinist I know in real life. You seem to enjoy making blanket statements about us that are very easy to disprove. Yes I was surprised when I realized I was a Calvinist but that was because what I thought was Calvinism was just the strawman I had heard in my Wesleyan upbringing.

    Hello Rebel,

There is no good reason we cannot interact respectfully. Some go on the "attack mode" so they get a different kind of response.
If you notice any who post civilly will be answered in kind. WHY NOT?
We should be looking to edify each other and grow so we can serve in the real world.
Some who attack post falsehoods and lies that need to be confronted. You are seeing that go on.
Con 1 and Bosley handle the humor part from our side, with the gif,and meme images...
