I don't believe it's political correctness. There's simply no good reason to fly that flag over government property.

What happened in North Charleston and Charleston just highlighted why the flag shouldn't be seen as endorsed by the government of South Carolina.

And that's what it's really all about.

    Nothing else matters.

Last week I was walking around the town square in Murfreesboro Tn, guess what they have . . . give up? A statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest! In the town square!

Not far from the town square they have a park (national battlefield) that honors dead rebels with a cemetery and a monument!

Shouldn't we tear those reminders of our past transgressions down also?

Maybe we could get a team of scientists to re-animate Sherman so he could burn it down.

Appeasing the PC crowd is akin to appeasing terrorists. It only emboldens them to more acts of PC terrorism.

Maybe the SC legislature has more guts than the governor does and will put it right back up.

Your comments remind most who know history of the Klan.

Precisely why the flag should be left alone - there'll be no end to "offensive" symbols once the first is gone.

Fact: The Ku Klux Klan was originally and primarily an arm of the Southern Democratic Party. Its mission was to terrorize freed slaves and "ni**er-loving" (their words) Republicans who sympathized with them.

Most major American city governments have been run by liberal Democrats for decades, and most of those cities have large black sections that are essentially dysfunctional anarchies. Cities like Detroit are overrun by gangs and drug dealers, with burned out homes on every block in some areas. The land values are so low due to crime, blight, and lack of economic opportunity that condemned homes are not even worth rebuilding. Who wants to build a home in an urban war zone? Yet they keep electing liberal Democrats -- and blaming "racist" Republicans for their problems!
