You don't get it. See I posted something and now it is established truth. That is what we do on this board. What gets posted here always establishes truth, that is why we are rude, mean, and smug with each other. We get mad when someone else establishes truth we do not like. Then we start threads trying to establish our own truth.

Post modernism is just rearing it's head. Trump supporters "truth" is that it is a landslide and Trump has a mandate and no amount of facts and figures will change their minds about their "truth".
Given that Trump is the inverse of Obama and his supporters are just as dedicated to the cult of personality, I think we could see Trump do to the Republican (he already managed to destroy any conservative voice in DC so they are out of my equation) what Obama did to the Democrats and his supporters will be culpable because they refuse (with a few exceptions, Hank has impressed me with his being willing to call out Trump) to see that Trump can make mistakes. The 1984ness of the
his supporters has always been one of my biggest problems with Trump.

The difference could be what happens in 4 to 8 years. Obama and his supporters claimed a landslide and based on that they overplayed their hand and destroyed the Democrat bench. Yes I know Republican views that with gleeful snickers but given how Trump is the inverse to Obama with just as dedicated followers I could see them over playing their hand to the gleeful snickers of Democrats. An honest look at his lackluster win would actually help the administration to not over play it's hand and destroy the long game.

Your inept opinion based solely on your hatred of Trump is not really a point. What you have wrong about me is I am not a Trump supporter. Didn't vote for him. In fact I voted for Castle. Second, my statement about estabblishing truth was sarcasm because of stupid threads like this one. People seem to feel they somehow establish truth on this board and when it gets challenged they get upset. Much like many of your posts.

 

I know you did not vote for Trump but you cannot deny that you have spent a fair amount of time defending him and attacking those of us in the NEVERTRUMP camp as you did above. I also know that your post was intended to be sarcastic yet their is always a bit of truth to those kind of post as well, which is what makes them so biting. But once again I do appreciate how you continue to prove my point. That is very kind of you especially given your opinion of NeverTrumpers Merry Christmas.

I never defend Trump, I stand against silly accusations of about Trump and his supporters. Most of which are completely false and over blown.

 

It's a game bw, it was played when Obama was (still is for about 30 days) in power according to his devotees, he could do no wrong and Bush Jr was the Grinch who stole Christmas.

There are many of us who will be watching Trump very closely comparing promises made with promises kept.

I am sure he won't be able to do it all but he should at least try and try honestly not a token try. With both the house and senate in his court for 2 years (maybe longer) he will have an easier time of it than not.

My concern is that the crushed Democrats after their convalescence and recovery will launch a partisan war against Trump unlike any we have ever seen in order to get back in the White House in 2020.

This may sound strange but we need both parties in a healthy condition with an ongoing check and balance game against each other but not all out war, not good, not good

Trump and his supporters over playing their hand will play into Dems attacking him in 2020. That is why supporter like you are the best thing for Trump, holding his feet to the fire but unfortunately out of all the Trump supporter I deal with online and in person you are the one exception to the Trump can do no wrong narrative. I hope that you know a lot of people that are like you.

I also agree that we need to opposing parties to provide check and balance, but unfortunately what we have now is liberal party A and liberal party B. We have an electorate that is loyal to a brand and not principles and that is a huge problem.

Translation: I voted for Castle so I would have deniability if Trump turns out to be a rogue. Hedging your bets. I don't think anybody believes you aren't a Trump supporter.

 

My main concern is the pro-life issue.

Trump/Pence have promised a repeal of Roe vs Wade and to appoint justices of the A. Scalia caliber.

I am already a little disappointed that he has become silent about pro-life issues.
We'll see after the inauguration.
