That's a fair point. I was just throwing out some food for thought on the comprehension issue.

But what would be the biblical and theological warrant for concluding all infants who die Elect while the rest are/may not be Elect?

Matthew 19:14 Jesus says of little children, 'of
such is the Kingdom of heaven'. So I find no distinction between infants (and children) dying or living up to adulthood. I won't push this point but it seems all were equal before Christ, for would Christ speaking of a son of perdition say thus?

And I'm thinking a Christian mother just delivered of a bouncing baby weeping for joy and relief from pregnancy, looking at her bundle of joy, certain the baby is 'clean' eternal life candidate IF it perished in that state....watching the baby grow, each moment doubting whether her original assessment was wrong

Ok. That was a sensitive example. I'm sorry

This is all basically speculation. My explanation was simply an option that didn't require all infants to be elect.

How does your 'simple' explanation handle the fact that Jesus invited ALL children?

That's another theological question that would have to deal with the nature of election itself.

Here is a perfect example of either dishonest debate or appalling ignorance.

    A false premise.

    Results in a false conclusion.

The correct premise would be "Infants who die in infancy have eternal life."

The correct conclusion would be "Infants who die in infancy are numbered among the elect."

What we know for sure is that if there is even one person in heaven, it is due to the mercy of God.
What we also know is that children are '......brought forth in iniquity, and in sin.......conceived' (Psalm 51:5). They are utterly dependent upon the grace and mercy of God, just as we are. So we lay such children in the hands of God, saying, "Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?" (Genesis 18:25). And of course He will.

I think many people are confused about the 'little children' language in the NT. I wrote this article to refute the views of certain paedobaptists, but you may find it helpful: https://marprelate.wordpress.com/2009/12/24/babes-in-christ/

The Baby has Orignal Sin debt, but Jesus paid for that debt on the Cross fo the infant.
God has chosen to remitthe sins ofBabes, mentally challenged, in order that He might get the glory!
David was to go to His new born dead baby, he said that he was a sinner, conceived in sin, but pretty sure he thought would both be with God!

    Scripture says this about children.
Mat 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Mat 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat_19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Do you know why there are only little children that make up heaven?
It's because little children are innocent. We must all become like little children. There are no adult Christians. We are all little children before God.
Our Lord is a merciful God.

Ok. So dead infants are Elect.

Permit me to probe further Mr @TCassidy

Why are they Elect? Because God forgave them out of His abundant Mercy or because they are blameless?

He is also FREE to damn because He is a Just God or simply because He can. He is equally FREE to grant me 1022 years of life.
We are not asking what He CAN or is FREE to do but rather what He does

All dead infants are Elect/saved. Ok

What do we call this? Infant universalism?

All I know is John Calvin was of contrary opinion. His theology had zero qualms with infants in hell. He rigidly held to eternal damnation of dead infants who were not Elect. But we are not debating Calvin, are we?

Can anything happen without God decreeing it?
