Again, I don't think McCain represents every serviceman, in fact I think most disagree with him. And McCain is a political troublemaker. Trump actually helped himself with veterans when he went after McCain. I think McCain avoids a lot of criticism simply because of his service and unfortunate sufferings. But that should not make him immune from criticism.

 

God is responsible for any blessings I receive and I will not give that honor to anyone else. This is true regardless of the administration that He has put in power in Washington.

self explanatory. he uses his service as a shield from criticism, just like Kerry intended to do. But it didn't work. Kerry got swift boated and McCain was trumped by vets who supported Trump.

Hahaha, please don't distract him right now, I've worked really hard and used up about all the patience a human being can be reasonably expected to demonstrate. I've now focused him to the four words that I have widdled this thing down to and need this closure. LOL.

 

That remains to be seen. If the vitriol expressed by of some of his supporters on this site is any indication, the jury is still out on that.

I have received no direct or even indirect blessings as a result of Trump as of yet. And frankly the less I get from him the better as I'm all about small government which is antithetical to how he and his supporters seem to think. My daily life since his inauguration is the same except for the attacks coming at me from Republicans as well as Democrats in my life. But I don't fault Trump for that, as I'm the one who makes my convictions known. We will see what Gorsuch does on the Supreme Court yet but having been burned in the arena before I'm taking a wait and see approach although I will say he looks wonderful on paper as a constitutionalist justice. But as I said only God gets credits for blessing as He is who I trust, not in princes or chariots.

 

Ah but you have my dear, you have. Trump supporters (under God's providence of course) have put Trump into office. He's already nominated a blessing for a SC justice and many federal justice will follow. that will bless us for many generations.

 

Yeah no kidding the only thing that has changed in my daily life is the increase of attacks on me from Republicans that I interact with. Although that is what you get when you make your strong opinions and convictions known.

Let me explain something to you before I retire for the evening. Everything you just posted about John McCain is true to an extent.

Here is the issue. When you accuse a man of being a loser because he was captured during wartime, you are in effect saying that if you are captured in wartime then you are a loser. I know it was focused on John McCain but the statement and Trump's logic behind that statement is heard by any and all POW's. I don't appreciate the idea being floated by the Commander in Chief that you are somehow less of a Soldier because circumstances in combat find you in the hands of the enemy. War is messy and sloppy at times and things happen beyond the control of those that engage in it. Was it his intent to put that concept out there to insult POW's? Probably not but it's another example of his mouth running before the brain can catch up. That is a problem and the statement was a problem. I am well aware that Republicans like to toss that comment aside because they've suspended principle in that situation to get the shot in on McCain. I don't approve of it and I promise you that while veterans may support Trump, they do not support that concept as applied to McCain.
