I fear that the Israeli government are not adverse to local war as they have ALL the firepower. Remember Gaza - virtually harmless rockets provide the excuse for the bombing of homes, hospitals, schools, sewage works & power plants.

Israel has the firepower to destroy specific targets in occupied territory without harming the illegal settlements.

Already Israel governs the entire country for the benefit of the Israeli occupation, at the expense of the US taxpayer & the Palestinian population.

If Mexico were shooting those same "harmless rockets" into Texas, how long you think we would tolerate it. For the record, Mexico has a far better claim to Texas than the "Palestinians" have to any Israeli land. The only legitimate claim they have to any land would be land occupied by Jordan.

Your post makes a number of erroneous assumptions:

1. That the secular state of Israel founded in 1948 is identified with the theocratic Kingdom of Israel that ended in 722/ 586 BC - there are a number of significant differences
2. That the OT prophecies relating to the said theocratic Kingdom apply to the modern secular state rather than to the Church, the True Israel.
3. That the first century Jews didn't reject Jesus' teaching and thus did not have the land taken away from them - clearly they did and it was in consequence just as Jesus Himself predicted.
4. That, even if the above assumptions are correct, which they are not, this entitles modern Jews and Israelis to exclusive possession to the land - it doesn't: as I said earlier, we fought a deadly war last century to combat the notion that one particular race is entitled to exclusive possession of land. The idea similarly failed in South Africa. Why try to resurrect that evil concept?

 

Not really: 85% of the non-Jewish population of Mandate Palestine were forced to leave their homes during the war establishing the State of Israel in 1948. They have as much right to live there as you or I do in our homes. What gives you the right to deny them that right?
