    You said
Again, so what? Just because Catholics believe something does not prove it is not true.

That's not what I said. The point that I was trying to make is that Augustine, Wesley, Knox, Arminius, Aquinas, Luther, and even Calvin did not get their theology out of thin air. They (for the most part) all got it from the same source. Just about every major denomination believes they are the only ones who got it right. Once again, they use the same source. If you claim that you are 100% right because you follow scripture, that's great! Almost all denominations claim to do the same thing. So the statement doesn't make reformed theology any more or less credible than any other theology.

Btw...serious question. When you were a seminary professor, what textbook did you use? I seriously would like to learn more about reformed theology and I want to make sure it is not a biased source. Thank you.

At the very least, some denominations' presuppositions can be proven to be mistaken by the text of scripture. But, you are correct, every denomination thinks they have the corner on the market. Some are very gracious about it--seeking to "Rightly divide the word of truth" and some go way off, perhaps intentionally contradicting scripture.

In the end, it isn't a denomination's doctrine, it is what the scriptures say. The denomination that one aligns with should come the closest to the individual's understanding of scripture.

    Blessings,

    The Archangel

It was a direct quote from your post. I cut and pasted exactly what you said.

    Yes. From the bible.

    I didn't mention reformed theology.

    For which class?

You will have to talk to someone who is reformed.

The class that is on topic for this thread would be Systematic Theology. The text book was "Systematic Theology" by Augustus Strong.

So, you are retracting your false statement? Good.

When you are actually referring to a statement I actually made and not a fabricated "straw man" statement of your creation, then we can continue. The statement I made was a fact.

A direct quote from your post #101.
Just because Catholics make the claim they get their doctrine from the bible does not mean Augustine and Calvin didn't get their doctrine from the bible. QED

You said it. Just own it.

I never said "just because Catholics believe something then it's not true". That was a straw man argument of your design. So it is not my statement to retract. But go ahead and beat the stuffing out of that scarecrow. Let me know when you've tuckered yourself out.

Do you know who else makes the same claim? Jehovah's witnesses.

Btw...i am owning my comment on post 101. I waiting for you to actually respond to the comment I actually made in post 101. However, you are still beating up a straw man argument that was not posted in 101.

So what? That doesn't mean others are wrong. QED

And is that a false statement? Are you suggesting that to say that Catholics (and other denominations) claim to be right because they use the bible a false statement?

It doest mean "I use the bible" = "I am 100% right." Which is the claim that yourself and many others have made. The examples I have provided prove that equation to be false.

It's not a lie. And you are still trying to distract away from my point because you clearly know you are in the wrong and too arrogant and proud to admit it. Don't worry, I had a systematic theology professor just like you.
