It almost sounds like you believe that soldiers and police can't be saved.

 

God saved Cornelius while he was a centurion. But history says he became a pastor.

 

There are none to say that I cannot, so would up to perosnal convictions on this issue, yor view works for you. mine works for me!

 

So one either becomes a pastor, or leaves the Military and police once saved?

 

What if he had chosen to stay a soldier also? like in the Roman army reserves?

 

I think he believes that no Christian should be doing either police/military if really saved, as we cannot take a life, no matter the circumstances!

 

Would killing enemies for money be OK with Jesus?

 

I think you are close. But we cannot submit to unbelievers and follow Christ at the same time.

 

He ordered his own to kill others before, and soldiers and policeman are NOT mercanaries for hire!

 

I had to give up my career to follow Christ.

 

Render unto Caesar, and render unto God, Jesus saw no problem in doing this!

 

But they kill enemies instead of loving them.

 

He also said his kingdom is not of this world, so his followers do not fight.

 

Context was that those who followed him were not to have a revolt against Rome, not saying cannot be cops or soldiers!

Jesus Himself leads the attack at his second coming, as the army of the Lord kills off those coming against Christ in the End, so He did not mean forever not able to fight!

 

All of us have made that decision, but still have careers still, so what you was doing was sinful or illegal?
