We are told to use out talents and gifts to the glory of God, to worship and honor Jesus, so someone cannot be an actor/author/musician and exercise their God given gifts?

 

You make it sound as if we all should join a Monestry, and get away from all worldly things!

 

I think we are to forsake all, take the cross, and follow Jesus.

 

Not really, but we do not see anything in the NT like we see today where entertainment and self glorification has replaced solid preaching and teaching.

 

Twisting scripture to bolster self piety is the most loathesome habit I see here.

 

NOT called to give up all material blessings, unless that is the specific plan of God for your life.
I think that you need to separate the conviction and persuasion that you made concerning what God wanted you to do with your own life, and stop demanding all others do the same exact thing!

 

Jesus wants us to exercise our light in entertainment fields correct? Or we just let sinful TV/Movies/Books /songs just go on, with no counterbalance? Shoudl there even be KLove, Moody /Focus on Family radio at all?

 

I'm only saying live the Sermon on the Mount, especially Matthew 6:24-34 and all will find its proper balance.

 

I have yet to hear or watch "Christian Media" that is not steeped in false doctrine and carnal mindedness.

 

Guess mercy Me/Casting Crowns, Imperials et all were all deluded and should just break up!

The Sermon on the Mount was not the blueprint to how to live and act now as a Christian, those are in the Epistles themselves!

I never saw the Apostles or others leaning over guitars endorsing Jesus. It's speaks of the Babylonian nature of the church today. "Christian Rock" = major oxymoron. Rock = (can't mention it on this board). Contemporary (worldly) "Christian music"?
