Who is Cavon? The Apostle paul clearly gives to us cavonistic theology regarding salvation in that chapter!
Ephesians 1:4-6
I am surprised that you did not get it, as that would be the Gnostic wisdom superior to Calvin some say that we lean upon here!Who is Cavon?
The process used to describe salvation being worked out is indeed the calvinistic plan of salvation, as it started from , and was ended by the Lord Himself!Ephesians 1:1-6 (KJV)
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
This is not Calvinist theology.
This is Biblical Christianity.
Calvin didn't live for another 1500 plus years.
And his theology is NOT inspired. Keep your eyes on God and not on man.
You're stuck. You are literally stuck. The process used to describe salvation being worked out is indeed the calvinistic plan of salvation, as it started from , and was ended by the Lord Himself!
And we follow Jesus, not Calvin, as you rightly remind all of us!
The Calvinistic theology comes from/derived books of the Gospel of John and from Romans though! You're stuck. You are literally stuck.
If you followed Jesus then you would forget Calvin and focus on Scripture.
But as your post reminds us your focus is on Calvin, not Jesus and definitely not Bible.
If you study the works of men you will become a man of men.
Study the Word of God - throw away your commentaries - and become a man of God.
The only end in sight is the Times of the Gentiles coming to a close and God turns back to His Chosen People Israel.
And God will NOT use anything of Calvin, or Christian doctrine, or of men to reveal His Christ to His people. He will use the Law, the Psalms and the Prophets.
As He did before.
What God began on Pentecost He will end with the Advent of Christ a second TIME. There will be no rapture, the Church will go through the Time of Jacob's Trouble along with Israel.
Derived. By-product.The Calvinistic theology comes from/derived books of the Gospel of John and from Romans though!
The election and predestination of God towards his saved is true, and is found in the scriptures!Derived. By-product.
Like buying a cow, killing the cow, sending the meat to processed with additives and other by-products and receive the finished product: "blow-up." (or what is commonly known as processed meats)
That's correct. It is found in the Scriptures. The election and predestination of God towards his saved is true, and is found in the scriptures!
Hello Revmitchell.Cals use the word "clearly" like they are peanut m&m's.
John Calvin wa sone of the greatest theologians God ever gave to His church though! That's correct. It is found in the Scriptures.
But there are a great many other things Calvin believed that are NOT found in the Scriptures.
Keep your eyes on God and not on man, Yeshua1, and you'll do fine.
Focus on the Scripture and the Holy Spirit and leave Calvin and commentaries in the trash-can.
Isaiah 2:22John Calvin wa sone of the greatest theologians God ever gave to His church though!
agreed, but think that while Calvin had soem theology I would not agree with, he should still be viewed in high esteem! as should Charles Spurgeon, and other giants of the past!Isaiah 2:22
Stop regarding man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?
I do not remember who said this, but:
Even the best men are mere men at best.
How about you let God judge who is "great" in His Kingdom?
While i appreciate the men of Church history, their work and labor, i think we'd do well to remember what Paul said..."But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me." (1 Cor. 15:10) Christ alone gets all the Glory.agreed, but think that while Calvin had soem theology I would not agree with, he should still be viewed in high esteem! as should Charles Spurgeon, and other giants of the past!
Yes, Jesus is the Lord, and the scriptures themselves are inspired, but Goid also did give to us gifted teachers/pastors/ and theologians! While i appreciate the men of Church history, their work and labor, i think we'd do well to remember what Paul said..."But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. Yes, God gave us Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers. And we Praise God that Christ works through them.Yes, Jesus is the Lord, and the scriptures themselves are inspired, but Goid also did give to us gifted teachers/pastors/ and theologians!
The first 2 are no longer being given to us...Yes, God gave us Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers. And we Praise God that Christ works through them.
