Oh yeah, that's why I left my childhood church. Every single sermon was about the same thing, basically King James onlyism mixed in with rock music being evil

Yes, some topics evoke far too much emotion for some, but I really hate talking about the weather, or politics, or religion. :Wink

Seriously, perhaps not completely, this started as a pet peeve thread, so I’ll add mine: people talking like they know more than others or like they are always right, or being ambiguously sarcastic. Unless of course it’s me, then I claim infinite mercy. :Wink

Politicians who say they respect the Constitution but then do not abide by it one iota.

Come to think of it there is one classic rock song I liked in church... Solid Rock!... Some may be familiar with it?... On Christ the solid rock I stand!... All other ground is sinking sand!... Brother Glen:Biggrin

    Oh, I got one.
There's this idea I've come across a few times that the "age of accountability" is 20--basically anyone 19 and under can't be saved yet. As someone who had MASSIVE spiritual development in my teens, it just rubs me the wrong way.

    Climate Change ruffles my feathers.

It's not that I think the Earth's climate isn't changing. It's that I think God is sovereignly changing the Earth's climate according to his purpose.

The idea that humans who fly to climate change conferences in their private jets and buy ocean front property while crying about rising seas just smacks of a bunch of chicken littles fear mongering for financial gain.

Enough with the fear mongering. Call me a Boomer and watch your entitled rear end be financially cut off while you work a ditch digging job with a pick axe so the deisel fumes don't damage the air quality.

Agreed, we can all look to Elijah who went through depression in his life when he thought he was the last faithful one remaining and was so sorrowful that he requested God to take him away. But God with patience, care and love restored Elijah mentally ensuring him he had reserved others to remain faithful.

But what I do know is that we will not succomb to suicidal depression, depression as Elijah had in wanting God to pull the trigger but not to the point to where we want to pull our own trigger.

Scripture has shown that the ungodly were of those who chose and succombed by that route.
