Ok could you answer me this please. So at what point did you recieve the Holy Spirit ?
if you look at the order in eph 1
13¶In whom ye also TRUSTED , after that ye heard the word of truth, the GOSPEL of your salvation: in whom also AFTER that ye BELIEVED, ye were SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise,
14Which is the EARNEST ( guarantee)of our inheritance UNTIL the redemption of the purchased possession,( GLORIFICATION)unto the praise of his glory.

Charity is more excellent for what ? the context is about gifts . Sure charity is a better way than the ' gifts ' as Paul explains . What has that Got to do with receiving the Holy Spirit ? If you think you can just exercise Charity to be saved then you Haven't read Paul in the book of Romans . No one will be justified by Charity . You could spend your whole life doing good deeds to your neighbour ,without Jesus and receiving the Holy Spirit ,you will not make it . Otherwise Jesus did not need to come and die on the cross .Surely you realise this ?

///Believing the LORD JESUS CHRIST doesn't equate to merely Jesus exists.///
Who said it does ? It means to believe that the Lord Jesus died for your sins ,was buried and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures.

    john 3.36
    John 3.36 actually says

36He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
And remember this is still way before the cross .

I think Jesus is superior to our love . What Jesus did, there is no greater love than that. God is pleased when we believe the Gospel because of what Jesus did . Not what you bring to the table. You cannot bring anything to add to what Jesus did . We simply do the very thing that pleases him and that is to believe Him .

    Sort of ...

    John 3:36
    • [KJV] He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
    • [NKJV] “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
    • [NLT] And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”
    • [NIV] Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
    • [ESV] Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
    • [CSB] The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who rejects the Son[fn] will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.
    • [NASB] “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not [fn]obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
    • [NET] The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God's wrath remains on him.
    • [RSV] He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him.
    • [ASV] He that believeth on the Son hath eternal life; but he that obeyeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
    • [YLT] he who is believing in the Son, hath life age-during; and he who is not believing the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God doth remain upon him.'
    • [DBY] He that believes on the Son has life eternal, and he that is not subject to the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him.
    • [WEB] He that believeth on the Son, hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Here is Thayer's Lexicon on the critical word ...

    STRONGS NT 544: ἀπειθέω
    ἀπειθέω, -ῶ; imperfect ἠπείθουν; 1 aorist ἠπείθησα; to be ἀπειθής (which see); not to allow oneself to be persuaded; not to comply with;
    a. to refuse or withhold belief (in Christ, in the gospel; opposed to πιστεύω): τῷ υἱῷ, John 3:36; τῷ λόγῳ, 1 Peter 2:8; 1 Peter 3:1; absolutely of those who reject the gospel, [R. V. to be disobedient; cf. b.]: Acts 14:2; Acts 17:5 [Rec.]; Acts 19:9; Romans 15:31; 1 Peter 2:7 (T Tr WH ἀπιστοῦσιν).
    b. to refuse belief and obedience: with the dative of thing or of person, Romans 2:8 (τῇ ἀληθείᾳ); Rom 11:30f (τῷ θεῷ); 1 Peter 4:17; absolutely, Romans 10:21 (Isaiah 65:2); Hebrews 3:18; Hebrews 11:31; 1 Peter 3:20. (In the Sept. a common equivalent to מָרָה, סָרַר; in Greek writings often from Aeschylus Ag. 1049 down; in Homer neuter plural ἀπιθεῖν.)

For those interested in the MGT vs TR Greek Sources, here is John 3:36

It sort of didn't happen yet and it sort of did happen yet. On the one hand, the Gospel of John is a record of what Jesus said and did BEFORE his resurrection. On the other hand, John was not just following Jesus with a camcorder recording random events, rather John wrote the Gospel at the end of his life to select from all he had seen and heard what was essential to pass on to the Church after he, the last Apostle, was gone. The words were spoken to people before Jesus' resurrection, but they were recorded because they were important to the future generations.

All through His ministry, the critical question was "Who do you say that I am?"
I don't think the critical question has changed that much even in our own day.

If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]

You are desperate to change bible translations, You genuinely do not like what it says.

So what are you going to do if it actually says obey? will you suck up that vanity and pride and admit defeat?

THE ORIGINAL GREEK which your translation comes from says:
    ἀπειθῶν
    apeithōn

I disobey, rebel, am disloyal, refuse conformity.

    it means DISOBEY

Satan can't stand the idea LOVE being the highest priority.

FOREMOST it means believe what Jesus TEACHES.

The world is filled with people who want to what THEY teach ABOUT Jesus to be more important than what JESUS TEACHES.

So everything People say ABOUT JESUS you eat right up, but the things JESUS TEACHES you toss to the trash.

Jesus never taught Faith Alone, because being God he doesn't teach dumb ideas.

Think about it brother, THE #1 Most important thing you ought to know, And you don't believe Jesus neither teaches and could not be expressed 40000 verses.

    I showed you scriptures

But your eyes go blind. You literally READ in front of your face that you are wrong, but JUST LIKE CALVINIST you have been indoctrinated to give excuses with no actual substance.

    LOOK again

    1 Corinthians 13

2If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

You going to tell me you have ALL FAITH that can MOVE MOUNTAINS and do not have love, I AM NOTHING?

I think your too scared to say this verse out loud.

You can have all the faith you want, my faith , your faith his faith, ALL FAITH, YOU HAVE GOT NOTHING.

Like when CALVINIST hear the word CHOSEN or ELECT.

You got your own trigger word FAITH.

Faith is not magical word. It means belief, trust, confidence. And belief can be packaged to have obedience.

Belief can also be packaged to trusting that your Father will catch you ... like when a child leaps into a pool trusting that "Daddy" WILL catch them because that is what daddies do. Daddies save their children from harm.

[John 10:27-30 NIV] 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one."

    1 John 4
8The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

If for one minute I didn't believe God is Love I would be yelling blasphemy to the verse above.

God has no CAUSE, God can't be punked around.

    John 3

16“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Who is the boss here? LOVE is the motivator, LOVE is calling the shots, Love demands his son.

I can say its God, because God is love. If your thinking TOO GOOD to BE TRUE. How can understanding God not be too good to be true?

LOVE is God BRICK wall you can never tear down. You take love away from any religion or denomination it becomes useless trash. Just like FAITH is trash without love.

Meanwhile after the cross ,that big event that every Christian should mark down as significant.
    Rom 6.17
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.( The Gospel , which is 1 cor 15 , 1-4 and not Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
A person is saved After they have obeyed the Gospel . Which is simply to believe/ trust / by Faith . Then this happens.
    Eph 1
5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
    7¶In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

13¶In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Yes you sound full of love. All you need is love after all . You ignored my question . When did you receive the Holy Spirit ? And How ? Romans 8.9 .
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

When did John write his Gospel?

    • Paul's conversion on the Road to Damascus (AD 34)
    • Paul's Second imprisonment and martyrdom under Nero (AD 66)
    • John writes his Gospel (AD 90-100)
