I know who the US are. But they weren't redeemed from the curse of the law by faith, but by Christ being made a curse for them.! Thats how they were redeemed from the curse of the law. We must give Christ the credit !

Did I say people are redeemed automatically when they put their faith in Christ? Nope Our worthless, filthy rag faith is the product of the call of the gospel, nothing more.

What does the bible say? We are redeemed when God alone puts believers into Christ, based on God crediting their faith (or not) in Christ. It is only "in Christ" that a person undergoes the "washing of regeneration" being made alive together with Christ, being born anew as a new creation, created for good works.

In Christ = Saved, Redeemed, Forgiven, Made Alive, Regenerated,
Not in Christ = Unsaved, not redeemed, not forgiven, not spiritually alive, unregenerate.

The gospel is straightforward once a person accepts it is God alone who saves.

But what did Christ accomplish on the cross? He became our propitiation or means of salvation. Those whose faith God credits as righteousness are placed into Christ where we are saved, redeemed, forgiven, made alive, regenerated, and so forth.

Those Christ was made a curse for, are redeemed from the curse automatically, because His death effected the redemption.

    Amen.

" For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life." ( Romans 5:10 ).

" And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
    13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
    14 blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 [and] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."
    ( Colossians 2:10-15 ).

Fiction with absolutely no support from scripture.
Galatians 3:9 tells you who the "us" refers to, and refers to people who are living at that time, and believing at that time.
2 Thessalonians 2:13 tells you that we were chosen for salvation through or by reason of our faith in the truth, requiring that we were alive at the time and beveling at that time.

Anyone can believe anything if they ignore scripture.

Gal 3:13 is scripture. It plainly declares how they were redeemed from the curse of the law. by Him being made a curse for them. If Christ died for them, that in and of itself freed them from the curse of the law. Now by His death alone they have been delivered by payment price:

The condemnation of God, the wrath of God, the second death. This is automatically solely based upon the Blood of the Lamb, Give Him the Glory !

All the called and chosen, chosen in Christ before the foundation, God already hath made Christ be unto them Redemption among other spiritual blessings.

    1 Cor 1:30

30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

    See also Rom 3:24;Eph 1:7;Col 1:14

The word redemption here : apolutrósis means:
a release effected by payment of ransom
Usage: release effected by payment of ransom; redemption, deliverance.

Notice it says a release effected ! Released from the debt of sin

everywhere in the N. T. metaphorically, viz. deliverance effected through the death of Christ from the retributive wrath of a holy God and the merited penalty of sin:

Folks this is automatice for them Christ died for, they have been delivered from the wrath of come as per 1 Thess 1:10

and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

God has elected a multitude of sinners to be effectually drawn to Jesus.
    The election of grace took place before the earth was;
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Anyone who suggests this happens in time after creation is a false teacher.

This false teaching is contrary to biblical revelation and needs to be put in the rubbish bin. Men have no faith to put anywhere.

Foul error such as this will not change from error to truth ever., even if repeated in every other post.

The word for redemption in my text is the greek word apolutrósis which means:

a release effected by payment of ransom
Usage: release effected by payment of ransom; redemption, deliverance.

Primarily this denotes a release, liberation from being under the Law, its curse, its penalty of death for the wages of sin

Jesus once said to some jews Jn 8:36

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Please carefully note this is something the Son does !4

Please do not rewrite scripture. I am sick of Calvinist rewriters:
    [IMG] Gal 3:13

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A [fn]TREE”—

No "by Him being made a curse" anywhere in the verse. On and on, folks, there is absolutely no support anywhere in scripture for redemption occurring when Christ died. None, zip, nada

Gal 3:13 is not rewrite, it's scripture and you ought to accept what it says. They were redeemed from the curse of the law by Christ having been made a curse for them.

Note that Brighfame52 was shown the verse does not say redeemed when Christ was made a curse.

When are we redeemed? When God puts us into Christ spiritually.

Did I say people are redeemed automatically when they put their faith in Christ? Nope Our worthless, filthy rag faith is the product of the call of the gospel, nothing more.

You kicking against the prick. Gal 3:13 says they were redeemed from the curse of the law by Christ being made a curse for them. Believe it!

You confuse the issue by defending your views with scriptures that do not actually teach what you claim. The faith God credits as righteousness is NOT saving faith. It is faith after salvation, expressed by those who are already believers. Read Genesis 15 again, read Galatians 3 again; neither one represents a salvation context. It is no wonder Calvinists oppose your view when you make saving faith a basis for credit when the Bible does not do so. There is credit for living and walking by faith after salvation, not at salvation.

You are avoiding the issue, Galatians 3:13 does not say anyone was redeemed when Christ was made a curse. As I said before, you can read into the verse what you will, but please do not push your absurd interpretation, it is unbiblical nonsense. We have the ministry of reconciliation and if your mistaken view was valid, we would not have the ministry of reconciliation. It is a lock

I am sorry sir, but your post is nonsense. We are chosen through or by reason of faith for salvation, 2 Thessalonians 2:13. No matter how many times this truth is denied, the verse is there for all to read. :)

I have said nothing to challenge your view on election, with which I essentially agree. I am challenging your faulty support for that view. You fail to address the point of my post, which is your ripping of Scripture out of its context to support your claim. Right things can be defended in a wrong way, and that's what you're doing. Abraham's credited faith was not saving faith, but in your argument you assume that it is.

You are avoiding the truth of Gal 3:13.
Those Christ was made a curse for, in behalf of, were redeemed from the curse of the law as a result.

Folks that one act of Christ being made a curse for them He died for, redeemed them from the curse of the law which results in:

This must mean, that he has delivered them from the consequences of their sins and transgressions in the world against His Holy Law ; he has saved them from the punishment which their sins have deserved.
