He is wrong. I have no idea where he came up with those beliefs (except the not guilty of the same crime part as they would be executed as well).

It's Jewish oral tradition. It is, in a sense, where the Jews went astray.

It is my understanding it has been compiled into writing. I guess what I meant is I do not have an English copy of it, or any language copy for that matter.

Αναμάρτητος in context would implicate the leaders as being involved in the particular sin of using the woman as a shill to test Jesus, thereby disqualifying them from casting that first stone. No need to extrapolate beyond that.

30 Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.

31 Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.

32 And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

33 33 So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

34 Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the Lord dwell among the children of Israel.

It has been compiled into writing.

You may find this interesting (especially Mishnah Sanhedrin):

That is a good question (for John MacArthur who was relying on it for his sermon).

Why hasn’t someone questioned his reasoning. It appears to want to be a secret Jew.

I question his reasoning.... but at the same time when we study the New Testament it is important to try and gain an appreciation of the context. That is the importance of studying these traditions - not for doctrine.

In a way, it is like studying the Law. The Mosaic Law is distinctly Jewish (given to a particular people, not their "forefathers", not gentiles, for a specific time and a specific purpose). We can read about the Temple and see how this points to Christ as the fulfillment of the Law.....but the application is distinctly to the Hebrews).
