That's not how this works. We are told in Scripture how salvation works and what is required.

For me it falls into a camp of well meaning people (usually) who are zealous to convert sinners and are less concerned about theology than they are of commitments to be a Christian. I commend their zeal. They truly desire people to be saved. I cringe at their execution as I have seen countless persons who became self focused on their works, which always leads to either self pride or self pity.
I prefer pointing people to the Savior of their sins and commending them to respond to the Spirits call by believing and repenting. But, God takes all our failed methods and chooses to save despite us. It is amazing grace in multiple facets.

Post it...don't just come on and make statements with no scriptural support. I see too much of this on other sites...especially from those who hold to certain soteriological viewpoints.

It's already been posted in this thread. Scripture doesn't say ask Jesus into your heart. It says Believe and Confess. That's what it says. Goodness, this is not difficult. You just like your "feel good" theology but that doesn't make it biblical. Sheesh.

    Acts 2:21

It will be that everyone whoever will call on the Name of the Lord will be saved

You don't know me from Adam, and you have no idea what I like. Quit being a child and act like the Christian you say you are....Your referral back still doesn't negate the position some hold on this. I'm against easy-believism and the 1-2-3 pray after me mentality, but it does produce some pretty good Christians. Not all people who come to Christ are going to understand your "Believe and Confess" mentality right off the bat...so again, I say...grow up and get real.

What do you think "easy-believism" is?
Salvation is through simply believeing the gospel, Romans 1:16.
    Matthew 11:28-30.

If you'd be careful enough to go back and read the post, you'll see that the quote is included within my response.

Don't be intentionally obtuse! I stated what it was just after that phrase.....and gave an explanation why I don't like that approach I'm beginning to think this site is full of quarrelsome faux Christians. Sick!

If you don't understand believe and confess I don't believe you can be saved.

Not everyone who believes is going to right off the bat confess that Jesus is Lord. It comes in time with most. Of course, you, being a Calvinist wouldn't understand that as you worship YOUR God...Calvin...

First of all, Calvin has nothing to do with my beliefs. Period. Second, no, if you don't confess him as Lord you are not saved. Period.
